Joining the new ATV segment again
Hello all. Joining the ATV world again after another break. First when I was a kid had a Honda something or other quad, then as a teenager a bayou 400, then as a 30’s year old early mid life crisis purchase got a 2009 RZR s and added a ridiculous amount of money which was later sold for a new kitchen at the cottage for a substantial loss. Now older and debatable about being wiser... thought I would give it a go again. After begging the wife and son for a Ranger XP 1000, we ended up with a 2018 sportsman touring 570 sp my son just HAD to have and a mother who just HAD to let him have it. So working on next year for the big XP! Anyways. Good to be back to teach my son how to be prepared and respect the machines that can be so much fun but need respect themselves. Will be looking for advice on a handful of upgrades to come and rides up here in central Ontario... Muskoka to be more exact and may one day share the same trail as some in here. :grin

2013 Sportsman 400 Leave in 2×4 or 4×4 Mode
I know this has been beat to death but I still don't have a definitive answer.. As I understand it 2x4 is 2 wheel only.. And 4x4 is "Armed" and on demand.
SO.... is there a downside to leaving it Activated all the time? I know there is a circuit energized in 4x4 but some folks are insisting there is additional drag on the drive train in 4x4 Mode.
I guess a better question is whats the point of 2x4 mode if 4x4 only kicks in when needed?

Control Module for 2007 Sportsman 450
I have a 2007 Sportsman 450 and need to replace the voltage regulator. I priced the control module for this bike and its $400, but i can purchase the Sure Power upgraded kit for the older 2004-2006 Sportsman's for $150 with what looks to include the same control module.
My question, is the control module basically just a voltage regulator? If so, i can't see why i wouldn't be able to use the module from the Sure Power kit. The part numbers aren't the same but they should do the same thing, correct? Thanks!

Gorilla axle castle nut
Does anyone know about gorilla axle castle nut? I bought a sportsman that came with gorilla axles and can’t figure out how to remove the castle nut. I found where people are saying that there different and lock in. Or anyone know where/who I can contact to figure this out. Thanks!
Gorilla axle castle nut
I purchased a used sportsman 850xp. the rear axles are gorilla axles. Went on a few rides and noticed that the rear axle boots have some small holes and have grease coming out. So I ordered boots for it and went to take hub off and noticed that gorilla uses a different type of castle nut. It’s almost like it’s locked on. Any advise on how to remove the nut.
warning lights
My eps and engine light comes on. When it does the power steering stops working. Any body else have this type problem. Checked connections do not see a problem.
