New user 18sportsman 570

Hi all,
Been researching the forum for awhile and finally purchased a 18 570 le in the breakout Camo
I’ve had a 91 Honda Fourtrak 300 for 20 plus years and have used it heavily..it is a work horse
I have 5 acres that back up to state forest and constantly hauling or skidding fire wood, getting rid of yard debris etc the trails are hilly and rocky and the machine takes a beating.

The Sportsman is a completely different machine ,feels huge compared to the Fourtrak., the suspension is excellent ,the CVT takes some getting used to coming from the Honda
Power steering is awesome ,I was on the fence about it It is worth it .I don’t care for the EBS ,I like to be able to coast on downgrades be nice if you could turn it off
I went on a 45 min ride this am and like I said trails are very rocky not much high speed driving probably averaged 4 mph I did not notice any heat issues and I was in shorts,
Dealer warned me of the clunks and rattles which it has due to all the play in the separate drive lines
Engine is a little louder then I expected kinda knocky and clicky
Exhaust is also louder then I expected but sounds great under hard throttle
There’s a steep smooth rock that you go down on the trail and the EBS does cause the rear wheels to skid on and off which is a very strange feeling
My 13 horse Honda would wheelie with a little body English however I do not see the 44 horse Polaris doing it , it takes off like a rocket but will not pull front end up more then an inch or 2
Wish it had traditional metal racks and really could use extra protection around the brake hoses
Paint in the pics online seemed to be a satin but it’s high gloss black

2007 525 outlaw engine maientience

Ok fellas Love polaris bikes.. that's all I've bought for over 20yrs but this ktm engine got me questioning my mechanical abilities and believe you me I'm 45 and been working on bikes since well forever lol.. Here goes... was cranking full throttle 5th gear passing the slower traffic and all at once a loud hollow sounding rattle like the piston was gonna fly out and a sound you usually only hear when your piston and rings are shot... you know loose sloppy metal hitting sound...anyway shit it down immedately.m let it cool...hit the starter button and it fires right up and was that same sound just at a slower rpm.. shut it back down brought it home and started researching what to check... checked timing tensioner.. seems fine but ordered a manual one for it anyway... still waiting on it...pulled top end down to the head checking everything and honestly everything looks great...so pulled side cases and of course the crank but was completely loose a has to be tightened. What I'm wanting to know is could that loose crank nut make such a noise.. or could the combination of the timing chain tensioner failing and the crank nut together cause this? And since I have the engine down this far what else should I check for coming loose as the more I read they apparently do come loose... I'm just needing someone who has been where I am and figured it out to give me some pointers or suggestions... Id really appreciate the help... oh one other thing does anybody have a link to a service manual download for this? Thanks in advance...

G2 Full armor arched A-arms

Looking to modify my 17 outlander 850 XMR. Checked around and searched with no results. Has anyone had any experience with the full armor A-arms? I have read some about the PATV version and they seem to have some issues with turning radius and rotor contact, plus cutting frame to fit. Just wondering if full armor's version has the same "bugs". I have emailed them and asked these questions, waiting on reply. I will let y'all know what they say. Thanks.

12V. Socket install how to help

Howdy - first post for help. Got me a 05 Magnum 330 4x4. I’d like to hook up a 12v socket/5v usb to the handlebars or fender. I’ve never done any wiring on a quad, but I know what red, black, yellow and white look like ;). Should there be a vacant plug already there somewhere for that kind of thing? If so, where? If not, how to I wire that kind of thing. I’d also like to upgrade the headlights to LEDs. Are the connection plugs pretty standard? I like pictures and videos and don’t know the mechanical jargon very well. So please dumb it down. Thanks for any help you can be. God bless.

Old newbie

Hello All - brand new to the forum. Just picked up an ‘05 Magnum 330 4x4 with 989 Miles on it. Very nice shape. Lookin forward to learning and being able to fix, maintane and accessories on my own. Low on knowledge. High on tinkering skills.:smile

07 outlander 800 max runs hot

Hello all, new to the site. Recently picked up a used outlander max, and riding the heat comming off the engine will roast your calves, seems really hot to me. You can hear the fan comming on and off while riding, it's not spitting coolant or nothing like that. Just hot as all get out. You have to put your legs out away from the machine it gets that hot.

Not familiar with can am, and haven't ever owned a 800, so not sure what's up, if it's something normal or not, sure don't feel like it. The heat seems like it would melt wires and torch any electronics. Any insight would be much appreciated, thanks,
