Ahhhh help!!!! no lights or fan

HELP? I inherited my father’s 2007 Polaris X2 500 EFI and been having issues with the lights and fan (so far that I know of.) The machine starts fine but don’t have any lights and once heated up the fan does not come on. The dash does say check engine. I did get a hold of an electrical schematic of the ATV. This is what I have done so far.

- Cleaned up grounds on chassis near front left tire
- Traced wire (solid red) from battery to PDM (SSCB #1 cavity H). Reads 12.7V – good there
- Checked continuity of ground coming into PDM SSCB #1 cavity N) to chassis – no break good there
- Plug SSCB #1 back into PDM and check voltage on light output terminal on PDM (SSCB #2 cavity G red/yellow wire) – Get 7.7V (would think this should be 12V???)
- Plug SSCB #2 back into PDM
- Check voltage at both head light switch, brake light switch, and work light switch (all red/yellow wire fed from PDM) – no voltage
- Check continuity from switches to PDM (red/yellow wire) – all check good no break. What happened to the 7.7V???
- I did jumper 12V to the red/yellow wire at the switch and lights came on so I know the lights work.

An odd thing happened last night when looking around. With the key in the on position the lights all start flashing on and off and also heard a clunking sound from the rear almost like a gear shifting. I quickly starting moving things back and forth to see if I could influence it or get the lights to flicker or stay on. At one point changing the gear to park and pushing slightly forward kept the lights on for a short while. After they went off a few seconds later I could not get them to turn back on by moving the stick shift.

I am leaning toward a bad PDM and the gear shift was a fluke and the PDM is just going in and out, but from what I have read the main problem with the PDM is starting. Mine starts fine. Thoughts/ideas? Should I be getting 12V out of the PDM terminal or does something pull from this when the plug is plugged back in? I would hate to buy another PDM and find out it is something else that is much cheaper to fix. Any feedback or things for me to try would be greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance - Clay

Ordered a 2019 Xxc

I ordered a 2019 850xxc.
I’m glad they didn’t have any 2018 in my general area, had to wait and get a 2019.
Should be here in July!

I’m kinda rethinking my decision though.
I was also looking at the Outlander vs Renegade.
Is the Renegade harder to ride slow technical trail vs the Outlander? Are they clutched differently? I’ve heard that the Renegade is clutched more for racing.
Input any thoughts,
Thanks

MAX XT 800 2008 – No display – No Start

I have an issue, my outlander stop suddently to start and theres no display. My first guest was the battery, i've tryed to boost it and charge it, but din't changed. Except one the start works while it was plugged in with the battery charger and theres was nothing on display that was problematic (no check engine) no information about the low battery also. To test it i stop it and wait a bit and restart and nothing shown.

I have also check the spark plugs and theres no one that was burnt. I've change them anyhow with the spare one included in the box and still nothing.

I've checked in the forum and somes mentionned the Key issue and also the kill switch but i would like to know if the key issue can happens if nothings is displayed ?

More infos about my bike theres about 6500km done on it.

PDM Failure, what will fit

Hey all, I'm new to the Polaris family. I picked up a 08 trailblazer 330 and the PDM is smoked. The ones for this year are insainly expensive but there are ones for a 2006, module 2203348, that look the same but have an adapter harness to work in the 2006. Has anyone tried to use them in place of the
module 4011831 or have a pinout diagram for the older module? I looked at the older manual and it looks like the ECM is different and thus why the adapter harness. If I could see what the pins on the module are I would be able to tell if it will work.

650 somethings slipping

Good day, this is my first cvt atv it's a 08 or 09 650 xt. Was out for a ride today an got stuck. After I got out I put it back in 2 wheel drive an it just spun so I put it in 4 wheel it shifted fine but when I went to take off it made a grinding noise an would not move. Pulled the bike home an now it will move kind of but deffintly slipping somewhere. Pulled the cvt cover off an it was bone dry. Belt isn't in amazing shape but not bad. The secondary is engaging an spinning but the bike still barely moves. If i hold it it won't move at all even the the secondary is engaged anf spinning. Shifts into all gears fine an the bike jerks abit when shifted into amy gear. Reverse seems to be working the best. What else could be slipping? Did i blow the gear case? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Clutch bearings and high top grease

Servicing both 2013 800 quad clutch. Called dealer in Edmonton enquiring about bearings. I removed two sealed bearings from each one way clutch. Dealer tried to sell me bearings with one seal. I asked about grease and was told that no grease is necessary. Buying bearings, sealed for $42 a piece, was offered Chinese bearings for $17 (lol pass)and Mobil 28 as the all round grease, clutch, drive shaft coupling and chassis.

Code 520 194 7

I have a 2010 Sportsman 850 Touring EPS. I'm getting code 520 194 7. The ADC started to not work while out riding. By the time I got home, the code showed up and the motor cuts out and won't run. It will sputter and back fire. Has anyone else had this problem ? Whats the fix ?

Anyone with the linq 23 gal box? Does it fit a helmet? Build quality?

My wes box is a disaster and will possibly return it because it's not weather sealed at all.

Anyone with the linq 23 gal box? Does it fit a helmet? Build quality?

I need a box that fits a helmet and some other stuff, I don't need a huge amount of space but I need a quality box that seals well and holds well to the rack.

2006 Outlander Wouldn’t start…fixed???

I went out to start my bike and there was no power at all. Battery, kill switch, etc. we all fine. It turns out it was two corroded wire connections under the fuse panel. They are both red wires with a grey stripe going to the relay in the bottom left corner. (please see attached photo) I cut the bad piece out and attached two little jumpers. One wire has constant power one has nothing. The two wires go to #30 and #85 on the relay.(again, see attached) I wasn't sure which wire went to witch contact so I tried each combination and still nothing. By mistake I touched all four wires together (the two coming off the relay and the two coming from the bike) and it came right to life. So I simply twisted all four wires together and the bike is working fine. Everything is working as it should. I went for a short ride and still working fine. Now there is constant power going to #30 and # 85 and being fed back into the bike somewhere? Is this how it should work? Am I going to mess something up?

Thanks so much in advance for any suggestions.

Renegade 500 bogging out randomly need ideas!

I HAVE 08 RENEGADE 500. i HAVE CHANGED PLUGS, SOLENOID, FUEL PUMP AND FILTER AND CHECKED VENT LINES AND ALL GOOD.

THE BIKE RUNS PERFECT IN COOLER WEATHER BUT IN WARM WEATHER AND AT RANDOM TIMES IT WILL START TO ACT UP AS IT STARTS TO BOG AND ALMOST SHUTOFF THE MORE THROTTLE I GIVE IT TOTALLY LOSES POWER. sOMETIME I SHUT THE BIKE OFF AND RESTART IT AND IT WILL GO AGAIN AND PROBLEM WILL COME BACK AT SOME POINT. iT NEVER HAPPENS RIGHT OFF THE START WHEN BIKE IS COLD OR AT IDEL TEMP.
IT COULD BE COINCIDENCE THAT IT HAPPENS WHEN ITS HOT. i GET NO ERROR LIGHTS OR p-CODES WHEN i LOOK. I AM STUMPED ON WHAT MIGHT BE HAPPENING OR WHATS CAUSING IT.
UNLESS IN THE HEAT SOMETHING IS ACTING UP OR COULD IT BE RECTIFIER OR ECM ISSUE. iF I LET OFF THROTTLE BIKE WILL IDLE NO PROBLEM IF I KEEP ON THE THROTTLE IT WILL SHUT OFF. IN WARM WEATHER COULD THROTTLE SENSOR CAUSE THIS ISSUE.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE WELCOMED. THXS
