Polaris, wow what a bunch of crooks.

Ok, I don't usually rant, but I'm shocked at what I was told by Polaris reps and the dealership service dept. They said they designed parts to fail!

I bought two 2016 570 Sportsmans new, paid for the extended warranties. Less than 90 hours on them. One of them has had some chattering in the drive system. Dealership said they took it apart and there's nothing wrong. They didn't know I had taken the secondary clutch apart and saw there was problems. I caught them in a lie and let them know it.
So they took it all apart, and confirmed that the helix and plastic buttons are shot and that the belt has rubbed the cover so much that it melted the cover up into the seal. And my belt is badly frayed from rubbing.
Now the shocker. Polaris said thats how they designed it, that's normal and expected at 1000 miles! They have a known issue with dust inside the cover. Filtering the dust means overheating the belt, so they just made it a MANDATORY DEALER ONLY service to clean the clutch system every 500 miles, or you void your warranty! Transfer the blame onto the rider for their crappy design. So, now my $400 warranty is gonna cost me $300 every 500 miles, or its voided? Plus, the items that fail because of the dust, are called wear items, and I have to pay anyway. Double screw me. Straight up crooks.
I will never by Polaris again!

clutch stuff? maby new primary spring?

so i noticed when slam her to the bar, the machine accelerates good up to 25ish km's then after that it seems like it struggles, the rpms don't ever max out ( no tach) seems to stay low. too me it sesms that the primary is is fully engaging too soon?. i get the same response in low gear which i figured would at least change at bit and get more rpm out of it if it was the tires or something. so im kinda confused..

the machine is a 2000 polaris magnum 500
10x26 tires in the front
12x26 tires in rear

all clutch spring stuff is stock afaik, i took carb out cleaned it up didn't make much of a difference.
maby the machine is just tired?

should i be looking at a different primary spring as i would like to sling these tires better in the mud as it somewhat struggles to spin all 4 in the deep mud lol

thank you for help im not sure if this is just normal for the machine, or maby clutch sping is warn out, which i have to clue how to check

2012 xmr 800

folks i need advice bike starts fine idles fine and revs perfectly in neutral but when in drive it wont go over 43mph please help thx and loss of power.

need to pick your brains again overheating?

hey
well other day my buddy cam over with his quad and I was showing him the property and what we had plans for. after a bit of simple riding we ended up by the creek area and went in. went back to the house 15 minutes later and I put on my wadders and went back to the creek to clean in up and get a little mud on the tires. lol anyways about 20min into the creek my quad started to act up. I left it in Neutral and idle to move some small logs and such and it stalled. nothing of concern came up on the dash so started it and went through the mud alittle . then it started to stall. when I went to start it the efi didn't sound the same , sounded like it was struggling . It did this once before and I thought it was the fuel filter so new filter installed. if my quad was over heating shouldn't it say on display? all fluids checked and good. I let it sit for 15min and it sounded back to normal and back to the house it went.
thoughts?
thanks
Glenn.

Sportsmen 450 Died after washing

My 450 was running fine earlier today. Went and washed it and cleaned the airbox out. I made sure not to get any water inside. I just wiped the dust away. Put all back together. Went and started let it idle. Then went and drove it literally 15 feet and it stalled out. It will crank over just will not fire up. Im wondering if I got something wet and it just needs to dry out or what should I do? Or what should I check. Its a brand new 2018 450 with less than 10 hours on it.

New to me 2007 Sportsman

Hey all,

Just wanted to say Hi. I am from just outside Kingston, Ontario Canada. I bought a 2007 Sportsman 450 tonight. Owner told me it needs a battery a year, that sounds like a charging issue, but besides that it seems to work great.

I am going to dump the fluid from both diffs and change the motor oil and see what else it needs.

So far very happy. I'd love to replace the decals on it, as they were washed away with a pressure washer.

Thanks, and i hope I can can to this community.

2011 renegade accessory load size

Normal machine, not xxc, how much of an electrical load can i throw at the bike?
Only have a winch but obviously its not used all the time, i'd like to wire in 145W worth of LED to the High beam switch. Don't want to blow the high switch/wiring either, as its about 12amp additional.
Seems like it might be a little too much.

I can't find the old numbers , but i think the magneto was 400w on these non power steering models? And i believe the bulbs were 60w each? so its already got 120W load. So i guess ideally i'd want to stick in the 200-250W range max total? That way im closer to the just above idle output?

Could down it to like 72w i suppose. Then with the stock included id be at 192W so 16amp. Lights are a 30amp fuse i think? I do recall a few getting a low power message riding at night a few times, but that was when i needed a new battery. Just want to make sure i have enough juice and wiring.
nough juice and wiring.

As for wiring i want to go something like the following im thinking :

Battery +--------------Fuse------------- {Relay ) ------------------- + Lightbar
Battery - ------------------------------- {Relay ) -------------------- - Lightbar
.................................................. ....{Relay ) -------- + Positive on High Beam Light

Does that seem right?

Help me!!!!!! Transmission leaking

Hi guys, so after work today. I decided to work on my 04.5 sportsman 500 and do a oil change. I got under the bike and noticed a wet spot on the bottom of the frame near the transmission. I looked around and noticed it was leaking from a hole in the transmission about quarter inch diameter. The thing is, it looks like the hole was always there since like it was apart of the design. It's on the left side under the clutch housing. It's a very slow leak. I took a few pictures. Let me know what you think. It actually looks like a weep hole.

2010 850efi no power on dash

Hello all, new comer here. I have a 2010 850 efi. I just changed the battery and now no power anywhere. all cables are hooked up, kill switch in run, even moved it back and forth a bunch of times. battery has 13v. I've even kicked the tires but nothing. I've read all the threads that seems to be relevant but no luck so far.
