Hey All,
I'll start out with I've seen other threads about this issue, but none of them have a solution for my machine. So I'm starting another one in the hopes somebody somewhere has found a solution to this problem.
Some background information as to what I have tested and replaced:
1. I have tested every electrical connection and component associated with this system and all are in good working order. The coil resistance meets spec., the coil magnetizes when 12v are directly applied.
2. The connection from the override button is good, when pressed, 12v is sent to the coil and the speedo shows the wheeler is in 4 wheel drive. Checked with a DVOM.
3. The halleffect sensor on the front hub tested good.
4. The roll cage/sprague carrier was replaced yesterday. So the diff was fully cleaned and fluids are new.
5. Armature plate looked to be in good condition when inspected while the diff was apart.
So after all the electrical testing and replacing the broken Sprague carrier, reassembling the wheeler and testing it. The 4 wheel drive or AWD, whatever you prefer to call it, works fine in High and Low gear, but still does not engage in reverse.
At this point I am stumped, not sure what to test next or what the issue is since it works in High and Low and not in reverse. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I just want to get the damn thing working again.
Also it stopped working in April while plowing the heavy late snow we had here in Minnesota. Not sure if that's helpful in finding a solution, just putting it our there.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
