Thank you latebird

He really does amazing work, I sent my dirty nasty cylinder that caused my piston to break the piston skirt on the intake side. He cleaned it bored it to the supplied piston and rings clearanced and gaped the rings and chamfed the ports in less then a week. It was just about a week turn around time and a great price. What a great guy with a lot of knowledge, sir it was a pleasure doing business with you and an absolute pleasure chatting with you, I will be sending anymore projects that I need your help with straight to you.

Rim/Tire combination question

Hello, I’m new to both Can-Ams and this forum so please bare with me and forgive me if I’m posting this in the incorrect section or place.

I recently purchased a 2012 Outlander 1000XT and am looking into some new wheels/tires brings the tires on it are nearly shot. I’ve read a few forums and decided I’d prefer to go 14” wheels (same size front and back), but unsure of what width rim/tire to run. Does running the same size front and rear rims/tires cause problems with rubbing up front when steering? Preferring to stay within the 26”-28” tire height dimensions (leaning towards 27” bighorns at 12” wide all around).

If anyone has any suggestion or images of what’s they’ve done I’d be more than happy to hear your opinions as well!

Thanks in advance, and again I apologize if this is posted in the wrong location

Polaris plow

My wear bar on bottom of my plow is wore to the change point. Looks like I can just reverse it for another winter. Am I correct or should I install another one?

New member

Thank you for this forum. Looking forward to great Polaris info. I have a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO and a 2018 Polaris Sportsman 570 LE. Just used for hunting and now for leisure.

Magnet question?

How tight should the magnet grab the armature plate? Still have no AWD, im getting power everywhere and magnet at the coil, hilliards are expanding but you can stop the hub with your foot. With the system energized i can spin the hilliard/plate combo by hand??

2013 Polaris 500 HO no top end

Recently my 500 has lost its top end. Max speed seems to be 35-40. I have rebuilt the clutches and put on a new belt. Didn’t find anything wrong with it. It idles and goes to max RPM with zero issue. Everything seems like it should except used to be more powerful and faster. Any advice as I am frustrated.

Secondary clutch premature wear

Started getting weird vibrations at about 1k miles. Pulled apart the secondary, the plastic tabs are very worn and the helix has been rubbing metal on metal somehow. Anyone know what could be the cause?

2004.5 sportsman 500 hole in transmission

Hi guys, so after work today. I decided to work on my sportsman and do a oil change. I got under the bike and noticed a wet spot on the bottom of the frame near the transmission. I looked around and noticed it was leaking from a hole in the transmission about quarter inch diameter. The thing is, it looks like the hole was always there since like it was apart of the design. It's on the left side under the clutch housing. It's a very slow leak. I took a few pictures. Let me know what you think. It actually looks like a weep hole.
