Maxxis Bighorns on outlander 1000

Looking at a set of Maxxis Bighorns for my stock 2016 Outlander 1000 XT.
size is- 26-12-12 and 26-10-12

I have read the Bighorns run bigger in size. Will these rub on my machine or give problems?

Thanks

2016 Outlander xmr 1000 starter removal advice

So my starter won’t turn over. I have good power through the solenoid and at the starter, engine turns over manually just fine. Last thing I am going to try is putting power straight to it but I am doubting that will do anything at this point...

My question is has any of you replaced one? It looks like the proper way is to take the cvt back cover out, but is there a way to maneuver it out through the RH side? I really want to avoid pulling my cvt apart but I have a feeling I’m not going to have a choice.

Thank you!

Changing oils

Morning guys, My first oil change on the 2006 Sportsman 500. Purchased the two Polaris oil change kits. Just not sure which oil to use in the front gear case. The kit has Demand Drive oil and Angle Drive fluid. The kit seems to have way too much oil for just transmission and front drive. Can one of you explain which should be used and why all the extra oil in the kit. With thanks, trapper2

Where can I get a white dip stick?

Polaris in there ultimate wisdom put a dark yellow dip stick in my 2015 570 ACE, which is almost the same color as most synthetic oils these days. I use Rotella and it's hard to see the oil on the dip stick. Anyone know where I can get a white dip stick for my 570 ACE?

Thanks
Norm

2004 Sportsman 500 – Only Pull Starts

Hi guys, my 2004 Sportsman 500 has been sitting in my garage for a couple years and I'm finally getting around to bringing it back to life.

It starts with a new battery and runs, but the way to get it to start is a pain:

I pull the choke out and turn the key and the starter runs strong, no start however. I give it a little gas and it sounds like it's almost about to start but still can't do it. But if I turn the key, give it a little gas, and pull the cord from the pull start at the same time, it finally starts up (almost need three hands to do that). I keep on the gas until it warms up and put the choke in (stays running idle around 1100 RPM, I'll probably turn that down with a screw driver later - I just can't remember what a good idle RPM is).

So the advice I'm asking here is where should I start to look for the problem? Would it be related to the starter, or maybe the spark plug, or something with the carb? Any tips would be appreciated!

Need OD dimension of 2008 Sportsman 500 rear axle shaft

I bought a set (40mm and 35mm) of bearing greasers from an Ebay seller. They are the over the axle style but the 40mm greaser won't fit over my rear axle shafts. I removed the bearing carrier to do some other maintenance and the greaser does fit inside the bearing and works as advertised.

I measured the ID of the greaser with a caliper and found it be 1.15".

The OD of the axle shaft is 1.18" and they are the stock axles.

Anybody know what the OD should be?

The 35mm greaser worked fine for the front bearings.

Can am commander won’t go over 28mph

I have a 2012 can am commander. Put a new battery in it,then went to ride and either key will go over 28mph!! Anyone on here have any ideas? I changed plugs fuel strainer cleaned the exhaust I’m lost?? Any help is appreciated.

What is the function of this?

Okay two questions.

1. Can someone please tell me the function of the port/nipple near the black hose? Refer to the attached picture.

2. Why would it be leaking coolant? If you look closely at the picture you can see the green coolant built up on the shelf below holding the brake cylinder. Found this right after machine startup.
