X3 RC transmission question

While in Moab, my friends rented two RZR's. To get up steep obstacles they had to gun it prior to hitting the obstacle or they would smoke the belt (yes they were both in LOW). Both were amazed at their abilities. I told them they should really look into the X3 RC. I have watched A WHOLE LOT of videos of the X3 RC in moab and it doesn't seem to have that problem. Does the RC model do something different to help with this? Better design? Or maybe the RZR's they rented had poor belts and shouldn't have been doing that.

I'd love to hear some opinions.

2014 Outlander 800 falls on face after 40mph???

Hello everyone

My outlander has been parked more than anything else. It only has 25 hours and 350 miles.

Idle is fine, no problems there. It has been parked for over a year now, gas light was on so I put fresh gas in it today. Seems like it has no power. I can slowly and I mean slowly get up to about 40mph but nothing like I remember it. I remember hitting 60s with ease and never struggling to get up to the 30s mph. The quad doesn't stutter or surge either. It's never been in water. The belt doesn't seem to be slipping either. I checked the air filter, clean as can be. What should I do next? Spark plug? fuel filter? Muffler? What would be the easiest route to go next? Maybe some seafoam?

How hard is it to get to the spark plug, fuel filter?

Thank you.

95 sportsman 400 counter balance

Hey guys nevto the forum just bought a 95 sportsman 400. Guy told me it wasn’t running also told me he before it locked up he replaced the water pump and then rode it around the yard a couple of times and bam she was done. After my initial inspection I noticed no oil in the res. And the counter shaft bearings are shredded and teeth missing off of the oil pump. The counter balance case also had no oil in it . So as a general question can I Remove the counter balance shaft and block off the oil pump and pre mix 50:1? I know on my old 2 stroke dirtbikes I pulled the countershafts for more power I just don’t know what’s possible with this motor I know I will have to come up with a coolant pump aswell. Either that or do i replace the counter balance bearings and the oil pump and hope it lasts?

Problems with my 2013 xmr 1000

Ok guys starting off I'm new to the forum. I have a 2013 xmr 1000 that I have had since new. It's been sitting a while and I went out to start it today and when i turn the key it won't come on in just the regular on position of the key. It will work in the light position but keeps flashing on and off. I took the key switch apart and cleaned everything in it and it does look corroded. Also I am hearing a clicking coming from the relays at the front of the bike. Not sure if that may be the cause. I'm thinking it's a bad key switch but just wanted consult with everyone before I go out and buy a new one.

Model Year

My Phoenix was manufacted on 07/05/2010. Was wondering if atv's were like cars or not and if this is a 2010 or 2011.

Fun Factor

Hi guys, Just joined the Polaris gang. Been on dirt bikes with high country riding, this is my first ATV. 2006 Polaris Sportsman HO. Managed to unload it off my truck with a little nervous tension and now have been doing trips around the yard. Needs full oil changes, and a good cleaning. Came with a plow and ramps. 1100 kms on it so not high milage. Have always done my own maintenance on my boat and bike so just a new learning curve on the Polaris. Good to have a connection with you guys in the know. Will contribute when I can, but at this point it is all brand new. Cheers trapper2 :grin

Iron Baltic Plastic Skid Plate

I have not had the chance to hit the trails with them yet, that will be tomorrow, but here are my thoughts on them so far.

The Good:
They arrived to me in Canada within 4 working days. That is faster shipping from Europe than I have received ordering stuff from BRP through the dealer. After the currency conversion, taxes and duties they came to about $180 dollars less than the BRP plastic skid plates. They seem like a good quality product, nice and thick, fits very good. Everything lines up and fits together nicely, it all bolts up tight to the frame and floor boards. They cut most of the holes bigger than they need to be on the skid plates, that way you can adjust them a bit before you tighten everything up. There are holes cut out for the oil and diff drains. The coverage seems good too, they do look like they will provide a lot of protection.

The Bad:
The installation instructions definately could of been more clear. They were not terrible but a few parts were tough to understand what they were trying to show.

Overall the installation was not that bad, I did it all right off the ground. I worked on it a little every night after work so it took me a few evenings. From what I have seen so far I would recommend them, but ultimately I will have to see how they hold up on the trails.
