fan problem

Hi, I have a 2005 Outlander Max XT where the fan does not come on and over heats. I've done some research and sounds like possibly the relay. Where and how do I get at this??

Thanks

Engine submerged

Foolish thing, but I tried to cross a creek that was too deep for the quad. Tried to keep engine going, but it stalled with water. Thankfully, I pulled plug, dried it, pulled started and repeated process about 20 times. Finally, it restarted and ran fine. No water in dip stick. Got back home at end of day, and now I need to make sure to take care of everything.
Of course, I'm changing oil and filter.
What else can you recommend I do?
Belt is not slipping at all, everything seems fine.
I did find the reason it stalled.
The rubber air tube between the filter and carb has big split in it. The air filter was dry, which led me to look further, and sure enough, I found the split which must have drawn water in.
Need to get that fixed too.

Thanks everyone, first time back here in a while.

2016 CanAm

My fiance decided to take the Maverick out at 1:00 in the morning and got it stuck in the pond. He is not sure where exactly the water was up to but the airbox on the driver side and muffler were not in the water. He shut it off as soon as it happened and drained all the oil (it looked like chocolate milk) and after he did that when he started it, it started to knock, loudly. What is everyone's tips on what should be done before taking it to the dealer? It is still under warranty and hasn't even had it's second service yet but I know the warranty will not cover it if it's the drivers' fault.

High Beams Quit Working

Was riding Friday Night with High Beams on, then turn off the engine for a while. Then when I turn the engine back on, the Low Beams were the only lights that would work. No High Beams....Would that be high low beam switch or fuse/relay or something else?

Just Joined – From Maine

Hello! My wife and I just purchased our first CAN-AM Outlander. We went with the Max XT 850 and couldn't be happier. Just waiting for the trails to dry and open up in the next week or so. We are from northern Maine close to the border of Canada. Looking forward to being part of the CAN-AM community. We have a good group of men/women/families that like to go out and ride on weekends/after work on weekdays. Most of us in our group have SxS but several now have ATV's. Our group consists of all makes and models not just CAN-AM and are family friendly. We typically ride the more aggressive trails around here with good elevation changes and mud as opposed to the railroad bed trails. We usually plan our trip around the experience level of the people riding with us. If anyone is ever in northern Maine and looking for people to ride with let me know!

2007 sportsman 800 hard to get in gear

I know this topic has been beaten to death. Ive tried everything to get this thing to shift smoothly. Everything on this machine is basically brand new looking. Pulled clutches and cleaned them. Pulled gear box and greased it. One way bearing feels perfect to me. Washers are mint. The one thing i cant seem to figure out is how to get the sheeves to slightly open on the secondary? The belt is to tight. Its riding to high on the driven clutch. My bolt holding driven clutch in is not the one that takes shims. There are 2 washers on the back side. Would pulling 1 off make the driven clutch open a little bit or is that for just alignment? Also motor mounts look great with no wear and can not budge the motor. Any help would be appreciated

Is the plastic battery cover really necessary?

As far as I can tell it seems to do nothing. When I went to replace my original battery it was still very dirty/muddy on top of the battery and around the terminals. I'm debating just replacing the strap to hold the battery down and leaving that cover off.

Any thoughts?
