Hey all. The Sportsman 570 base models come with a secondary clutch that hasn no threaded hole or pry hole to release the clutch spring. I Googled and searched Youtube, but only found info on how to remove the primary clutch in order to swap the drive belt. So, I'm sharing my video of how to muscle it off and on without tools. No need to go spend a bunch of money on the special clutch tool just to do the belt. And, it's nice to know that if I ever need to change it in the field, it's do-able. Hope this helps future rookie belt swappers.:wink
brake flaring
I went to install a new rear caliper on my 2003 sportsman 500 and the brass fitting is stripped and cracked.
I'm planning on cutting the brake line at the bottom, getting the stripped fitting off and then installing a new fitting for the line.
Does anyone know the diameter of the copper brake line that goes to the caliper.
Also, what type of flare is on there. is it a double flare, metric bubble flare?
I'll have to order a brake flaring kit before I do any of this. Does anyone have one they
would recommend (on the cheaper side).

Polaris 400 flywheel removal Q
Blew up my 02 polaris Scrambler 400 4x4 last summer and am just now getting around to it. It over heated due to the water pump seal failing and it leaked coolant out the weap hole by the pull starter and as soon as my coolant overheat light came on on the dash she bogged down and locked up. I got the cylinder looking nice and am starting on replacing the water pump seals. I’ve taken the pull start cover off and take the fly wheel nut/washer off. I got a steering wheel puller and put the jaws in the (2) holes on the flywheel and started to tighten it but it just slips the jaws off once it really starts to get tight. Anyone have some suggestions that will help me? Is heat needed and will it not hurt anything behind the flywheel? Also if you have a lead on a good write up of replacing the water pump seals on one of these machines I’d love to read some more on it. Thanks in advance
06 SPMN 800 Overheating
Hey guys not new to forum but forgot my old log in anyhow I have a SPMN EFI that I had to replace thermostat last year. Well I've only put like 5hr on it since then I know its sad but it overheated again this time thermistor sensor so replaced it an fan started working again an I decided to go with Evans waterless coolant. I flushed system really good used Evans prep fluid flushed really good again then started bleeding process which I've done in past with no issues. Well I've bleed an bleed yet still Overheating, fan comes on like it should and the water pump is working or propeller was turning. Could the thermostat be bad again that quick? Thank

Question on a Thermister
I have a question
What does this part do, I ordered one and it will take a week or so to get it
Can I run the bike without it? just for the weekend
Seems it only runs the lights or am I wrong on this?

You got to be kidding me?
Another maintenance item I've decided to do while I am at is replace the CTV belt.
I would NOT want to have to do this on the trail. I used some extensions and a swivel to get the bolts out.
OK now that I have the screws out, I can't get the cover off! It seems I'm going to have to remove the foot rest!
This wouldn't be so bad if the bolts were not rusted. So I have them soaking with PB Blaster over night. I might have to get out the cutting disc and grinds some head off.
Looks like removing the foot rest is going to take more time to remove than the cover and replacing the actual belt.
