Had to jump start, running and idles ok but when rpms are up the dash blanks out and comes back after a bit. Thinking battery is bad but not sure. Battery only two years old. Could regulator be bad causing brief power interruptions?
Volatage regulator question
Bought a used 2007 sportsman 800 with really low miles and in really mint shape. With all the threads on these machines i was able to solve a few issues. Quad wasnt charging so i tested the stator and the voltage regulator. Stator seemed to check out but vr seemed to test on the low side all 3 numbers were the same though. Bought new regulator and before i installed it i tested it and i got 1 number lower than the other 2. Installed it anyway and my tachometor doesnt work now but its definetly charging. Hooked old 1 up and my tach works but doesnt charge. Is it possible i recieved a faulty regulator or do i have something else going on? Any thoughts? Wiring on this machine all looks new. Looked around and seems to be no visible corrosion

Sportsman touring clutch kit
I've emailed several places and cant find a clutch kit for my 2012 sportsman 500ho touring. I want to run a bigger tire but not burn my belt up. Does anyone know if there is one out there. I've read mixed reviews that the clutching is different from the touring to a regular 500ho. Thanks
wrong caliper
The rear caliper on my 03 sportsman 500 was ruined, so I picked up a used one from a local parts guy tonight.
When I got it home I noticed that the one I picked up is a totally different style. It's off an 02 and has 2 pistons instead of the single that my old one had.
I didn't get the mounting bracket or bolts with it either. The mounting bracket from my old caliper looks like it will work, but the old bolts are threaded and the 02 caliper isn't. Can I just use regular bolts and nylon nuts to mount the caliper to the bracket?
The pads are different too. The 02 are y shaped and the ones from my 03 have the tabs at either end. I'd have to order new pads as well.
Can I make this work, or should I just bring it back and look for an 03 caliper.

Winch Help
2018 Outlander 570 with the factory Warn Winch, first time we tried to use it today, pulled the line out and got ready to winch, as soon as you hit "line in" button it kills the motor and you just hear a clicking sound, increasing the rpm on the motor before hitting the switch doesn't help, line doesn't move at all the engine just dies, anyone have any ideas ?
possible fuel filter?
Hey
well out today doing some work on the property and decided to check for downed trees. came back to the house and about 50 feet from house quad started bogging , was like I was running out of gas. Stopped and turned off. checked gas tank and almost full. (fuel gauge not working , stays at full ). then turned key to hear the efi sound was very different and the quad wouldn't start.
no codes came up and it just wouldn't start. gave it a sec once I did a look over things and it finally started but seemed to be starving for fuel.
took the front apart to see if I could notice anything and didn't . but did see the fuel filter well I was very surprised as I read on this forum that the filter is inside the tank and is not serviceable .
I'm sure I did anyways
Polaris Sportsman 500 700 800 EFI 2006 2007 2008 2009 Bosch Fuel Filter - 2520464 from ebay.ca and ordered.
took a pic with my phone and sorry its hard to get to when all back together .
I'm going to assume that this is the oem filter and has never been changed so hopefully the quad will run better.
while I'm waiting for part the noise that the efi made would that be maybe the fuel pump going and will need to be replaced aswell you think?
thanks
oh just noticed the photo is upside down. sorry.
Glenn.

2001 polaris explorer electrical problem
Hey guys, my father in law has a 2001 polaris sportsman explorer 400 I believe. He's been having problems with it charging the battery since he bought it, if he has the headlights on and hand warmers at the same time it'll kill the battery and so on. Well I got a text from him today saying that the last time it was being used it blew up the lights in the speedometer, the tail lights, the light for the 4 wheel drive and now his fan doesn't work anymore ( the fan was on a toggle switch since the relay wasn't working properly and we kept it on most of the time). He told me the previous owner replaced the stator and I believe he has a newer battery in it, to me it sounds like a voltage regulator issue, anybody know what kind of resistance I should have when I test the circuits? Unfortunately we have about 130km between us so it's not something I can go check real quick however I will be there this weekend. Thanks guys, and if you have any ideas on what to check let me know.

Hot rear shock left side
Hi guys,
Is there a problem for the rear shock getting heated up by the exhaust gases on the left side or should I just ride? I cant touch the shock or spring after 10min riding! The center shock is just fine, no problem but the one blasted by the gases is super hot. This cant be good?
