Sportsman 500 HO won’t stay running

I have a 08 Sportsman 500 ho. Starts and runs good for about 10-15 minutes then dies and won't start. If you let it set/ cool down for a little while it will start and run then die again. Spark plug is brand new. Could it be the Coil?

Thanks

99 Ranger 500 6X6 problem

Hi all, great forum! I picked up the above ranger and after doing some work to get it running, I noticed when going down the road at 20 mph or so, the shifter starts shaking a lot. It also has a noise, kind of a tinging noise coming from the fresh air duct to the clutches at idle. Other wise it seems to run good at idle and there is not shifter shaking at lower speeds. Anyone run across this before? I didn't notice the shifter shaking till it felt like it was coming out of gear and I put my hand on the shifter to try to steady it and push it back into gear.

2005 Predator Side Plastics Needed!

Just picked up a 2005 Predator 500, but is missing side plastics.
New side plastics are insanely expensive! ($175 per side)

If anyone out there has or knows of a Polaris junkyard :-) that may have the side plastics for a 2005 Predator, please let me know.

Thanks,
Paul

Tie rod question

has anyone run into their tie rod nuts coming loose? all 4 nuts came loose on me, and noticed they arent locking nuts. Is there a reason why?

Polaris’ Reputation is Well Earned

Good riding to all of you!

I'm sure this will generate some negative feedback, but just wanted to share my opinion of Polaris. I purchased a brand new 2015 570 Polaris Sportsman. I have put less than 35 hours in the three years I've owned it, kept it out of deep mud and water and kept in stored in the garage. Last year I complained about having to replace the voltage regulator and brand new battery and got the typical critical posts for Polaris loyalists. 11 months almost to the day, I had to bring the bike in and found out that it needed another voltage regulator (previous one had a 30 day warranty). Keep in mind that my point of reference is having had a 2003 Honda Foreman from 2010 through 2015 and never had any issues. (She wasn't pretty but never let me down never needed repair). So, just thought I'd advise anyone out there who is thinking on taking a change on Polaris despite the negative reports of their reliability and poor quality...buy Honda, Yamaha or Kawasaki or anything but Polaris.:spank:

And for all of you loyal Polaris owners...more power to you all!

Regards,

Selection dilemma

Just joined and this is my first post (Sorry it went a bit long). I got my son a smaller 300cc Arctic Cat for Christmas last year (Was a last minute decision and turned out to be the best present ever!!) he has about 400 miles on it since then. Well this has now turned into getting me one as it is a lot more fun to ride together than for me to stand and watch him ride.

I usually do a lot of research and I am really in a quandary with my decision. We live in eastern central Florida and we ride a lot around our house as we have some very large areas in riding distance from our home. Power lines, 2 large lakes with trails all around and we will also be traveling to Western North Carolina in the mountains at least once a year as well. So our riding will be varied to say the least.

In my past I had up to 500cc 2-Stroke dirt bikes (The usual progression, 125, 250 then the CR500) and the last one I had had been modified (engine and suspension) and the best word I have ever come up with is that it was "Violent". So I am used to power, I have also had large bore sport bikes as well.

On to my dilemma I really like the Renegade X XC , but I am not sure it is the most practical as we will be in some muddy conditions (Not MUDDING) and I know it also has no storage so not the most practical. I then got onto the Outlander X XC as it and the Renegade X XC both have the really great shock package (Fox Podium 1.5 RC2) which I think is awesome. I also want a winch for those just in case situations and bead-lock wheels. I have tried to go through the price out option on Can-Am's web page but the Outlander X XC does not bring this option up as I assume it has to do with the skid plates installed from the factory (I am sure the dealer could do it but I have not asked them yet on the cost).

This has led me to look at the Outlander 1000 XT-P. I saw one at my dealer the other day and I really like it. My one issue with this unit is that it has the QS3 shocks. Is this a bad thing? Can these shocks fit most of the adjustment needs for standard trail, some light mudding and then some maybe more harsh climbing conditions up in the mountains? I really like the idea of maybe just getting the Renegade X XC and putting a winch on it and being done but I also like the storage/racks on the Outlander and I know it will provide some better protection for me going through streams and mud areas etc.

I have been back and forth so many times but at this point I want to put it out to you. Based on my information above can you guys/gals give me some real world usage input? One other note (not a deal breaker either way though) is I really like the instrumentation on the Outlander vs. the Renegade X XC.

I know you can't make the decision for me but real world practical information would be awesome.

Thanks for your time.

2001 Trail boss 325

My wife has a Trail boss 325 and loves it
Its light and maneuvers very easily

Today we statrted it and I thought it was on fire smoke everywhere
I took it all apart and found this part had melted down

Polaris Part Number 4010249 - SWITCH-THERMISTER,LR-60
From what I can find on the net there seems to only be New OEM parts
Any suggestions on where to look for used or aftermarket?

If not my wife will be waiting as 180.00 plus shipping US is a bit out of my reach right now

Thanks

Sportsman identification help

This may be a dumb question but I just got a 07 sportsman 800 efi and was looking on the net for some oe parts. Was on bikebandit.com and they had a few different versions on there. I understand the x2 is a 2 seater , but how do you ( or I ) go about narrowing down the search . Thanks for the info
