2018 cab heat in Commander

I'm in the market for a new ATV and am interested in the Commander. I sometimes ride in very hot conditions with my current ATV and I see posts about the Commander having problems with too much heat build-up in the cab. Some say they couldn't lean their leg on the console because it got too hot. Among other posts about heat build-up in the cab, they it was so hot underneath that occasional leaf buildup sometimes caught fire. If that's true, it seems to me that the engine and exhaust is getting way to hot to be safe and is a Can-Am problem. That much heat build-up would not only make riding in hot conditions miserable but would certainly make me afraid to ride a Commander in a desert.

However, those posts were from 2016 -- and earlier! Since I haven't found any discussion of that problem in more recent posts, I wonder if Can-Am has fixed the problem since then.

Any comments about heat build-up in the cab of the 2018 Commander?

Thanks in advance,
Crockett

VIN Number ID 2007 Polaris Sportsman 500

Anyone able to discern the build date for my 2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI from the VIN? If not, I'll have to wait for Tuesday to call a dealer before ordering parts.
VIN: 4XAMH50A472084961

01 Xplorer 400 & 95 Xplorer 400 share any parts???

I own a 95 Xplorer 400 and I have the opportunity to buy a 01 Xplorer 400 for parts. I was wondering if the 01 will be any use to me for a parts? From what I've been able to find out is the engine and/or trans is different due to the shaft drive vs. chain drive. Will the rest of the machine be useful to me? I'm new to both models.

New to forum w/ Bobcat 3400 utv

Hopefully this is an ok spot to post, I have a 2013 Bobcat 3400 UTV but is made by Polaris and is essentially a Ranger 500. There is next to zero information on bobcat UTVs online so I thought I’d turn here.

It began starting hard and now won’t start at all. Key produces clicking but starter doesn’t engage. I assumed it was the solenoid so I bypassed it with a screwdriver and it starts right up. Assuming I had it figured out a ordered a new solenoid from a local bobcat dealer because I didn’t want to get the wrong one and after I installed it it’s no better off. I sill have to bypass the solenoid to get it to start. Does this mean it wasn’t the solenoid to begin with or is my replacement faulty? Any help is appreciated!!

Noise coming from the drive side

I have a general question about the drive system and link to the transmission. When an ATV is in neutral and at idle does any of the belt drive system cause parts to spin in the transmission? I am working on my boys DS90X and the mechanic stated he thinks it is coming from the transmission. From what I see and understand the transmission will not engage until the clutches engage to drive the primary drive shaft.

I took the trans apart and do not see any problem. I drove out the primary drive shaft and the bearing seems in perfect condition. A year ago I rebuilt the trans with many new parts and all new bearings and seals. After looking at the trans in detail I can't find anything that looks wrong.

The last problem is the belt exploded. We replaced the front drive assembly on the crank shaft. We took off the belt and started the bike and no sound. I am at a loss what is the problem unless it is in the secondary part of the clutch drive system. I believe the sound is from something out of balance or alignment.

With all that, does something spin in the trans when at idle in neutral. If the answer is no then I know it is in the belt drive system.

Pickup tailgate extension for rear wheel hangoff

I just purchased a sportsman 850 and I plan on carrying it in the rear ofy pickup while I pull a travel trailer. The issue is I have to remove my tailgate as it will hit the stabilizer Jack when turning but the rear wheels of the 850 hang over about a foot. I have a roll and lock cover and that takes up some space in the front and I do have an aluminum ramp to put the front wheels up on that gives me a little more space. I am looking to purchase a smaller version of a tailgate that will give me about an extra foot like the picture I have attached. Does anyone have any idea where I can buy something like this?

’96 sportsman 500 dies when put in reverse

The blind leading the blind here. Working on a neighbor's quad, which he bought at an auction. Neither of us know much.

From neutral, with the engine idling smoothly, I push the foot pedal (brake? clutch?) AND hold the hand brake hard, and attempt to shift into reverse. Engine dies. Am I doing something wrong, or is there some bigger issue with the machine?
