Outlander 650 clicks/slips forward when in park

Hey everyone, needing some help. When my 650 is just sitting there in park, we can rock/pull it forward and it makes a loud snap or click sound and rolls forward. It won’t move backward, that stays locked but it’s able to move fully forward with a loud clicking sound. Any advise is helpful. New to quads so learning as we go.

More Street Legal States

Here I am in a nice RV park in Tucson, AZ. I'm walking the beagle and see a Polaris RZR 1000 XP down the row. Nice machine. The beagle and I notice it has a South Dakota license plate on the back. I see mirrors and turn signals on the machine. I did not realize South Dakota has a street legal law for ATVs and UTVs. I'll add that one to my list.

Then on the other side of the campground is yet another RZR with a Montana license. I knew Montana has a street legal law, but with some caveats if I recall correctly.

And of course Arizona is the leader in street legal ATV laws and has been for a long time. Arizona is a great place to vacation with your ATV. Maybe the law grew from golf carts in retirement communities, I don't know. But you can license and ride your machine on public secondary roads here in Arizona. I think Arizona accepts ATVs licensed in other states like they do my pickup.

I saw a Can Am Maverick X3 two seat on a 4 lane boulevard sitting at the stop light. It looked great to me.

Our hobby would be enhanced significantly if we could ride on public secondary roads, especially in the rural areas.

Front tow or winch point

I purchased a 2018 outlander xmr 850 and was wondering if anyone has found an option for a front tow hook? The Polaris sportsman highlighter has a point built in to the bumper. I’m considering installing a plate on the winch bracket.

sportsman fron wheel bearings

I took the front hubs apart on my 2003 sportsman 500 as the previous user put grease in them rather than the proper fluid. The 4x4 was still working, but I wanted to make it right.

I got everything cleaned up and when putting it all back together I noticed that each wheel has one bearing where the inside edge is rounded over.

Is that a worn bearing or does each wheel have a rounded edge bearing that goes in a particular place?

I figure it's just worn but I'm unsure since both wheels have the same looking bearings.

I've attached a pic of one 'normal' bearing and a rounded one so you can see what I'm talking about. The rounded one is on the left in the pic.

Thanks,

2017 Sportsman 850

Hey guys,

I have a 2017 sportsman 850. It has been jerking real bad lately starting out, when i'm going its fine.
I took a look at the belt and it looks like it is ready to be replaced. Just had a couple of questions.

1. What does everyone recommend for belts, or if I should just go for the OEM Polaris belt?
2. How long should a belt last if broken in properly?

If you have any recommendations, links to Canadian pages would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Looking to buy a 2018

Hello group,

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a 2-UP ATV. Been tossing between the Outlander 570 Max DPS and a Polaris 570 Touring (EPS).

At the moment, leaning towards the Can-AM. A good way to go? anything you "experts" would advise?

(Admins - please push this to right forum if I've misplaced it).

TIA to all,

-Jav
