Hey all. I'm just looking to see if anyone else has experienced this type of unbelievably poor customer service.
I bought my Polaris scrambler 1000 xp in 15 it has had upwards of 16 warranty claims every single one of which I have had to fight and argue and battle my way into it being covered.
I just recently went to pick up my quad after the secondary blew up causing more then 2000 dollars in damage and yes it ultimately git covered by Polaris.
Back story...
I was out with my gf in about 4 inches of snow.... literally no deeper then the rubber on the tires.....the bike chugged and started slipping and chugging more. I figured I delaminated the belt so I decided well I'll limp it home because I can actually see my truck from where I'm at....got halfway and what ever broke broke better....so I got it home on to my quad lift and opened everything up to find that the secondary had split and busted the bolt the belt the clutch cover and some other minor crap. Having a close look I could tell by the way the metal on the outer clutch plate had been worn where the jagged broken steel was it's what let go originally one side was jagged and sharp the other side was smoothened off from the belt slipping over it....so I figured this was typical warranty stuff.... brought it in to my dealer they know me by name because of the 16 cases and because I go to trade shows with the quad that they go to and I tell ppl my truthful experience with my machine and the service I get.....they sent the pictures info ect in to Polaris and it was denied claiming that the secondary bolt was over torqued.... interesting because I had 4 claims where they had tightened that specific bolt because it was coming loose preventing the clutch from disengaging....so the dealer tells me. So I told them you guys are the only ones who have ever touched it...on 4 separate occasions....non the less I still had to call head office and argue the point. Head office said ok we will cover it....when I went in the guy at the counter told me it wasn't the bolt....they tried to explain to Polaris that it was the casing that had split....but Polaris wanted to roll with the over torquing story. He also told me that the bearings in the primary had given up....so I said....so the bearing probably caused the belt to become too tight causing the casing to split and me limping it home is what busted the bolt....the guy at the counter said yup... Exactly. So I asked why they didn't go to bat for me...he claimed that they did....and that it was Polaris that refused the story....so in my eyes if this is true.... Polaris actively and consciously tried to defruad me and my dealership let them.....that or my dealership the only one within 2 hours of my home is really just a good awful business? Now with that all said the new clutch wasn't installed correctly.....again. it's not disengaging at idol again.....so WTF is going on. It took 6 months to get a regulator 4 claims on the original clutch 3 sets if ball joints wheel bearing steering column bushings twice front differential clutch housing seal numerous electrical quirks that we're never found but resolved themselves....I'm assuming moisture was the issue starter exhuast shielding and a few others I can't recall right now.....all in two years and 3400km.....the only really good thing Polaris did was give me an additional 3 years of extended warranty for free because of all the bs.
I just don't know what to think anymore....when the machine runs...it runs fantastic and is an absolute blast but for something that claims to be the best race machine and gncc race ready it's truly a massive pos....my next machine was going to be the mud model but this is just to much....canam will be getting my money.
