1997 Polaris Sportsman 500

Hello everybody, I am new to this site and Polaris ATVs. I hope you all can help me. I recently picked up a 1997 Polaris sportsman 500 with 320 miles on it that had been sitting since 1998 in a shed. After I got it running I went to do the rear brakes and found that wonderful designed caliper was covered in rust, So here is the problem, bleeder screw busted off, pins will not move, OEM calipers are not available. is there a direct aftermarket replacement, or does anyone have any Ideas on how to get pins out? Thanks for help:smile

Tons of codes 08 500 x2 efi

Codes 42 41 46 58 56 74

So far i have checked the wiring to the maf and intake air sensor and it checks out. What could cause all these codes? It also stalls randomly when cold.

Bearings for 2002 Polaris Trailblazer

I've just taken the rear axle assembly completely apart (I just posted a bit ago about the axle problems), and the existing bearings are tapered roller bearings. I've seen sealed bearings that claim the fit this model. I'm not sure if this is common to have both roller and sealed bearings fit the same wheel. I'd prefer to go with the sealed bearings, so can anyone confirm if the sealed bearings will actually work for this application? Thanks

Renegade xmr tune

I have 1 2016 renegade xmr with power commander v, rjwc slip-on, twin-air air filter. I have bin running power commanders tune for the yosi exhaust i was wondering if any one on here had a better tune that they would share with me. Thanks

Sprocket hub on 2002 Trail Blazer 250

What an ordeal. We had the swing arm break in and area that holds on the bearing carrier. We spent a few days off and on trying to get one of the nuts off that holds on the hubs for either the sprocket or the brake rotor. We finally gave up and took the rear axle assembly to a machine shop.

They did get the nut off on the side for the sprocket (took off part of the threads off the axle in the process as they appear to have been frozen to the nut), but then they had to cut the sprocket hub off as it wouldn’t slip off the splines. They did say they had one side of the sprocket hub red hot with a torch, and that didn’t help. They put a couple notches in the axle and ruined the bearings, but I can fix the bearings. The problem is that I can’t find a used sprocket hub that isn’t new. I really don’t want to pay $80 for a new sprocket hub.

Any ideas? Any other models that may fit? Thanks

Scrambler 500 new cam

I have a 1999 scrambler that I put a new cam in. The Exhaust lobe was almost completely gone on the old cam making it run really bad and back fire through the carb. So I got all the timing marks Lined up and pulled the old cam put the new cam and rocker assembly in adjusted the valve to .006. Put it all back together. And now it won’t run. Changed spark plug and checked it for spark. It’s getting gas. And if I pull the plug and turn it over a few times and put the plug back in it will pop over once and the it will just turn over and not fire. If I choke it or hit the throttle it will stall out the starter Immediately. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

How to carry a small outboard motor

Does anyone have any ideas regarding carrying a small outboard on a 570, other than securing it to front or rear racks. I have an old 14ft alumunium boat that I leave in @ certain hard to reach small lakes where I fish trout. When I want to go for a quick or late fish all I have to take on the quad is the motor, fuel and fishing rod. I was thinking about possibly using the rear trailer hitch in some way. Any ideas would be appreciated.
