Changes through the years

I have recently bought a 2008 800 Sportsman. This forum has been a great help, particularly in deciding how to maintain this thing. I've noticed there seem to be many major changes to the basic mechanical build of these machines as the years went by. Can anyone lay out the important changes/improvements at what years in the Polaris line? For instance, when did the radiators get mounted up high? What were the changes in the drive train? Just wondering, good stuff to know if I decide to buy a newer unit.

Elka shocks on Defender?

One of my front shocks started leaking oil on my Defender Cab model. Elka Stage 1 shocks are very close in price to the OEM shocks. Has anyone tried them on their machine. I like the idea of having more adjustment than the factory shocks.

Improvements from 2017 to 2018

Shopping for a new machine, focusing on the 570 X2 but also considering a base 570 with EPS.

I'm wanting to make sure I have captured the improvements from 2017 to 2018. Here is what I believe they are:
1) EBS engagement is less abrupt.
2) Additional heat shielding on the right side of the machine
3) Stronger axles

Any comments on this would be appreciated!

Coil Spring upgrade

I'm finding that my 2018 sportsman 570 SP is need of a heavy duty spring upgrade. I have adjusted the preload to max but still find it to soft, I use about 40% of travel just sitting on the quad. My payload is about 400lbs and I'm a aggressive rider. What would you recommend? EPI is the only one that I could find and they say the front and rears are the same.

2017 Scrambler 1k XP fox podium adjustment

New bike to me and seems to ride hard. Not much give in berms or hard turns. Sometimes just short of rolling. Feels almost like the shocks are fully extending on wheels up crossings and jumps. I see the quick adjust knob on the shock but not sure what to expect. Not sure what a good rebound setting may be for me. I'm guessing it was initially set up for a heavier rider than I. I'm 175lbs. Any suggestions out there?. I'm kinda clueless when it comes to suspension setups. Ill attach a pic, maybe someone who knows what they are looking at can see what I'm
trying to explain. haa.
Thanks...

I thought I’d post this to clear up some major frustration. What a shame, when companies go threw changes it’s the small things that drive loyal customers crazy!
