Women have the best hips but…

So I bought a 2017 Sportsman 850 Touring and it is great. One issue is those rear handles. While on a flat road they are fine but get into a little bumpy area and my wife's legs/hips bump into the side handles. There is no way to adjust so I was thinking of adding padding. Has anyone come up with a solution? We never had this problem with the Arctic Cat TRV.

Gen Numbers

Hi guys,

I am thinking someone here can clarify something for me. I see Outlanders referred to as Gen 1, Gen 2 etc. Am I wrong in thinking this refers to Can-Am ATVs and not Bombardier. I know it is the same manufacturer. I have a 2005 Bombardier Outlander. Could it be classified as Gen 0?

2002 Polaris 700 Counterbalance Shaft Gear is Stuck!

Hello, this is probably one of those mute questions that has no answer, but I thought I would give it a shot. I am in the process of replacing the camshaft in my 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700. I got all the way down to just about the last steps. I removed the camshaft gear (easy), went to pull the counterbalance gear and man is it every stuck on there. There is no way to get behind the bugger with a normal gear puller. I have attempted to use one of the universal 3 bolt design pullers and put so much force on it that it stripped out the threads on the puller shaft.

It looks like that little gear would just simply slide off (so the manual says), but I mean it acts like it is welded on there. Has anyone else experienced such an animal or am I the lucky first?

I have soaked it in PB blast, I have tried heating it up a bit, can't get the whole engine and bike in a freezer (lol). Out of ideas, but that stupid gear is about to make trash out of my whole engine if I can't get if off.

Any help guys would be greatly appreciated! :crying

drive shaft replacement

I had to remove my front drive shafts on my 2015 sportsman 570. I was reading in the service manual that you need to replace the compression ring when reinstalling the drive shaft. I can not find a part number for the compression ring or a pic of it to see what they are talking about. can some one help in identifying this part, and do I actually need to replace it?
