Gen1 outlander problem after rebuild

Good morning, new to the forum. Having an issue I’m having trouble figuring out. Spun a rod bearing and did a complete rebuild with a Mr.Rpm. Crank/rods and his 860 kit. The bike does not want to start without giving it a little throttle. Once started it will idle anywhere from 1-8 minutes then all of a sudden instantly shuts off, no sputter or anything. Fuel pressure stay at 51 and I’ve cleaned the throttle body and all the sensors. Battery is fully charged. Any insight is appreciated. Bike is a 2010.

Possible 2012 550 to 2018 850 Upgrade

It's been a long time since I have posted and been on the site. I currently have a 2012 550 eps and the machine has been perfect. No problems and I purchased it new. I want to upgrade to the new 850 sp. I don't get to ride very often and my main concern is reliability. It's been 6 years so wanting some advise. Buddy just purchased a new 570 and he is already having some issues, I have heard of other problems on other models as well. Has the build quality gone down hill in the past years? Just to note my friends and I are just trail riders, no hard mud bogs, rock climbs, etc. Being that my 550 has been so dependable I'm kind of scared to upgrade. Your thoughts are appreciated, thanks.

Apache Backcountry Tracks Review 31 Mar 2018

I had a couple guys ask me to do a track review of the Apache Backcountry Tracks that I have been using this season. So, here goes ...

We didn't get as much snow this season as we usually get & I wasn't able to ride as often as I would of liked, so I was only able to put a little over 500 miles on The Backcountry Tracks this season ... but here a video of My Impressions of the tracks ... ... ... ...

2017 Sportsman Xp 1000 Touring Accessories and part mods

Hi all,

I decided to post this thread because of the lack of information on accessories for the 2017 1000 touring. In this thread we can discuss the different things we have learned about rack extenders, seat fillers and any mods that we have done to accessorize our machines. This could be a one stop shop for those looking to find information.

Currently, I have ordered a front rack extender for another machine that I will be attempting to modify to fit on my front cargo box. If all goes to plan I will post pics and part numbers of what I used to make it happen. I also am getting a back rack extender from another member on this forum. Apparently at one point they had made an extender that worked for our machine but it go discontinued or something. When I get it I will post some pics and a part number for a reference for anyone else that is in the search.

please share what you have found or done to your machine. thanks!

Here are a few links I have found:

Link for a lady that has a back rack extender... It does exist but she doesn't have a part number:

Link for a front rack extender mod:

Link for a guy that moded a factory rack to fit his 850. (this could be an option for us)

Primary Clutch HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I need a new clutch for my 1996 polaris sportman 500. I want to know if I could put a 05 or 06 or 07 year of clutch on it. I would like to have a newer clutch even if it is used. 9 years make a difference in used parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Front diff and ADC

Happy Easter fellas, I went on a ride yesterday and for the first time I used 4x4 to pop up over a log and when the front end came down the tires griped and something popped, I hoped it was just an axle, but it wasn't, it was the ADC mechanism on the back side of the diff, the housing broke off and was laying there, I have a question I hope isn't too goofy, can I remove the ADC mechanism all together and just go from trans straight to the front diff, looks like it's gonna get expensive, I don't use or care for the ADC anyway so hoping I can do away with it and maybe replace with a longer shaft?????

Will 12″ rims fit on the rear of 2018 Outlander 1000XT?

I have a 2018 Outlander Max 1000XT on order, and was wondering if 12" rims will clear the rear brake caliper like it does on the 2012 Outtie 1000? The reason I ask is that the tires I plan to run on it aren't available in 14" rim sizes and I don't like the ugly plain black 14" rims that come on it anyway.

Winch install 650xmr

Looking for ideas. I have a none can am branded superwinch terra. It has different connections for the handle bar switch than what is prewired on my bike. It also has a different shape solenoid. My bike doesn’t appear to have a bracket. Any pics of where and how you mounted your solenoid would help.

97 scrambler 400 performance

I have been googling all day and really can’t find anything with good help, all this is fairly new to me. I’m used to modding my motorcycle and Jeep, I more or less wanna add a clutch kit, bigger carb and some performance reeds, just really wanna wake up an old machine
