Front axle stuck sportsman 500ho

I have got a polaris sportsman 500ho. Other forum members told me i have either a 2004 or 2004.5 year. I have tried almost everything to try to get my front axle out. in my previous thread i tried using a slide hammer and i tried using my truck to pull it off but to no avail. So i opened the front case and i found a small hole where i think the end of the male end spline shaft of the axle is. I tried putting in a socket extension in the hole and hitting the other end with a hammer, i have also tried using a hammer and chisel on the outside in the gap between the u joint and the case. Still nothing. I cut off the u joint because i was getting ready to drill the shaft out. So i need to know what other options i have to get it out.

Hot Shock Reservoir

I just picked up my 2018 outlander xtp 1000 the other day,,only put a few miles on it so far. I noticed after riding the reservoir on the left side shock next to the exhaust was HOT,,not warm,,HOT. I was thinking this can’t be a good thing,,is it no big deal? I dunno,,I don’t see how it could be an “OK” thing,,perhaps I’m wrong. Other side felt very normal temp wise.

New Machine,,…..

Hello all,,just picked up my brandy new 2018 Outlander XT-P 1000 on 3/29. So far i love it,,I’m being easy on it trying to do the break in thing properly,,PLUS,,,,I totaled my Kawi BF 750 back in mid Jan riding in a snow storm & found out after the fact on solid ice also,,anyway. Insurance company made it possible for me to get my dream machine,,so,,,,here I am.

Upgrading to the 1000

Sold my 650 last fall and going to pull the trigger on the 1000 6x6 this weekend. Wanted to get inputs on some of your upgrades that people have done to their machines; ones that you were happy with and others that were a total bust and would not do them again. For me I will say buying that utility box that slides under the tilt bed was the worst 425.00 dollars I ever spent, will make my own this time around. I liked the HDPE 1-pc skid that I installed on my 650 and will go with that again unless there is something else better. Some items I am thinking about:
- Fuel controller, (on the 650 I liked it, not sure if the 1000 needs one...thoughts?)
- Will do the rad relocate, probably the best mod I did to my 650, love having the radiator out of the mud. However I sacrificed my front rack...
- What about shocks? The fronts are really soft on this machine
- Anything else you want to share will be appreciated
Thanks

2016 Sportsman 570 starting issue

A few weeks back I was riding my atv in the snow when it suddenly got sluggish and started backfiring. Limped it back to the trailer and had to winch it on.
Took it to the dealer and they diagnosed it as a fuel pump and throttle position sensor. Now I'm going to attempt to fix it myself.
What's a good after market fuel pump or should I stick with oem?
Also, are the clips Amazon sells the proper ones for the panels?

2009 sportsman issues

Secondary buttons & helix

Installing a QSC clutch kit I bought from member Double_J (excellent seller by the way). My question is about the buttons in the secondary, are they bad enough to need replacing or do they have some life left? Included a picture of the helix too.

AWD won’t engage.. HUB problem?

Hi, So I have a 1999 Sportsman 500 that the original owner said the AWD did not work. I checked all the wiring and have the 23 ohms to both coils, I have 13.5+ volts with it running going to both coils. I have taken them apart to verify parts. All the parts look correct, the armature plates looked a little worn so I replaced them. The cam/rollers/spring all look in very good condition and are smooth. When I test it with the awd on, the armature plates magnetism is working and they hold very well. I put the cam on without the hub and turned the wheels slowly in awe and the rollers do move outwards. When I put it all together it seems like the rollers/cam isn't grabbing the hub at all. I can't figure out why the front awd will not work. All the parts seem to be working correctly.

I am wondering, is it possible that the inside of the hub is too worn or too large that the rollers aren't grabbing? I wondered if possibly someone switched the hubs at some point, but I checked all models between 1995 and 2004 on the parts diagram and they all use the same hub so I have eliminated this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
