2018 Polaris RZR XP Turbo S vs. Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo R: By the Numbers

The new 2018 Polaris RZR XP Turbo S clearly has its sights set on the Can-Am Maverick X3 family, so we figured we’d see how they stack up…by the numbers.

And now, we know. Everyone has been wondering when Polaris was going to respond to Can-Am’s amazing Maverick X3 machines. As we saw the folks at BRP refine and update the X3 models even further, we all wondered when Polaris would respond. The two brands have been locked in a performance war for several years. Of course, we’ve all be reaping the benefits with some of the most powerful and best handling machines ever produced. Not long ago, Can-Am pulled the covers off the latest X3 monster – the X RS Turbo R. This added new technologies to the already proven platform. And then Polaris dropped the bombshell with the new RZR XP Turbo S. Business is picking up, my friends. Let’s take a closer look.

Front Diff – Ug

Appears to just be the rear seal on my front diff for my 2012 850. I have the seal kit for it, or do I do the pinion cover upgrade while I am at it? My hold up on doing the pinion cover is that this just happened at 5000 miles and I run big tires, so I would think if it was going to brake it already would have....

Should EPS make any noise? Hum?

Mine doesn’t. With all this talk of “it should steer with one finger just sitting in the garage” I decided to try that.
If the unit is providing that much power I expect to hear something from the unit. Nada.
And it takes a good hand to move while sitting static. Get her rolling slowly while pushing in or out of garage and she steers great.

So what gives?
Should she make noise?
How can it not if it is providing assistance?
Should she really steer easier than she does?

Not worried, just a BS type of thread.
Seems to work for me.

Hot exhaust

Trying to get my magnum 325 running put new carb new gas adjusted air fuel two turns out and still had no top end power and was bogging out. I adjusted the choke by screwing the adjuster in middle of the cable out and it has a lot more power but exhaust gets extremely hot. Any ideas?

XT vs Non XT

I picked up an 08 outlander max 800 (yellow)and the guy said it was an XT but I'm not sure if it is or not as it doesn't say on it anywhere. What was the difference between XT and Non XT for 2008?

Replacing Polaris 2,500lb winch steel cable

Used winch for 4th time since installing it in 2016 and found cable bird nested and several strands broken. I am going to replace it with synthetic rope. I was looking at the Polaris Synthetic rope but was told about 12 strand 3/8ths Dyneema Rope anyone have experience with this rope?
