Well, it’s official. I’m no longer stuck on a Hawkeye

Purchased a left over 2017 570 Touring EPS Last night. Will be picking it up on Saturday. Got $1000 off MSRP with it being a carry over, but all that did was cover sales tax, Delivery, set up, title and license. Got the 3500 lbs Polaris winch, and the front utility rack. Eventually I'll be swapping the BlackDiamond ATRs onto the Sportsman and putting the stock tires back on the Hawkeye. But I'll probably wait until after my trip to Utah to do that. Pics Saturday.

Getting ready to pull the top end part of a possible previously botched job

I bought an 03 sportsman 500, previous owner did a top end on it (including a new cylinder off of eBay), According to him the bike burned oil previously. Anyway, he said he was getting coolant in the oil after changing the top end. I'm a diesel tech by trade, so I'm familiar with mechanical stuff, the only thing I don't like is someone previously had this apart, so I don't know if something was left out. Are there any orings or anything like that involved in doing the top end? Can the base gasket cause coolant to get into the crankcase? Are there any links available about doing a top end with torque specs? Thanks

I’m missing a plastic part below the front rack

Can you guys tell me what the name of the plastic (I assume) part that goes in the center of the machine just below the front rack? It's an 03 sportsman 500, and was missing it when I bought it. From pictures it looks like it says Polaris on it. If anyone has a used one I'll take it?

Switching from 14″ to 12″ wheels and tires. Worth it?

Ok guys, I have a 2009 sportsman 800 HO, and I am looking to put some new rubber on it. I currently have stock 14" Polaris wheels with 26x8x14 fronts and 26x10x14 rears. After some research I have decided on going with the Kenda bear claw HTR's. I mainly use my atv for pushing snowand hard surface trail riding with the occasional trip to the black hills on some rocky rides. If I go with the nearest size to what I currently have in the bear claw htr I would jump up to a 26x9x14 and 26x11x14 and from what I've read on here i would need to put spacers on to avoid rubbing. Is it a better choice to just downsize to a 12" rim and buy a 4+3 wheel/tire combo or should I stay with my current 14" rims and run spacers? Are there any wheel/tire combos that are better than others or anything to stay away from when choosing? Thanks for your help

After market exhaust

Ok so I’m sure this has been asked a million times but I’m new to this so I’m gonna ask again so bare with me.

I have a 2018 outlander 650xt max. I just bought a yoshi slip on exhaust. So my question is this. From all the research I have done it seems to be a 50/50 split. Heat issues. Some say fuel controllers some say no. Some say it’s fine as is and some say heat wrapping the exhaust is a good idea.

I spoke with my dealer mechanic. Installing the yoshi will not void my warranty. As for a fuel controller he said it’s not required and I should be good. He did say if I was going to ride it real hard, race or do lots of heavy muddling then it may be an option to look into. My riding style doesn’t meet that. I’m more into leisure trail riding with moderate rough stuff.

Any input would be appreciated

Misc. Scrambler Parts – Make Offer

I have a few things I’ll be looking to get rid of to help with cleaning out the garage this Spring.
Make an offer if anything interests you.
Everything off of a 2015 Scrambler 1K:
- Polaris Lock N Ride (zipper) Rear Bag
- Rear Rack
- Stock Dual Exhaust (mufflers and cross pipe only)
- Stock Polaris Hand Guards (Black/White Polaris Lettering)
- Stock Seat Cover - Will be installing new seat cover shortly. As soon as it’s installed, oem is available and is in perfect condition if anyone has ripped theirs.

Slipping out of gear at higher rpms

I have a 2007 Outlander 800 HO Max. Had issue with shifting into park. I adjusted the linkage. Still off. Also when I tested after adjustment it slipped out of high into neutral at 35 mph. I have seen motor mounts and the one Way bearing possibly being the culprit. Anybody got some insight on this issue?

Soooo…. Rogue

After messing up the first grill they sent me, they tried to make it right by sending a new one after I had requested it.
When they sent the new one, it arrived with perfect mesh, but the “STAR” was about a third the size of the original. I have opted to keep the original one they sent with the larger star and not so perfect mesh (little crooked).
I requested a return label for whichever one I wasn’t keeping to ship back. I did not receive a return label when they shipped the new one. I requested the return label on a second occasion. I have yet to receive the label following a third discussion where they said they’d mail it to me (mail it to me...? Odd you can e-mail them). Regardless, I’m not asking a fourth time.
I’m giving them another week and if I do not receive it, I’m then going to put the new one up for sale at a discounted price for anyone who may be interested in it.
I’d also take a trade for a set of A Arm Guards if anyone has a set for a Scrambler.

Anyone think I’m doing the wrong thing here?
I mean, I refuse to pay to have it sent back. Am I to assume they’ve cut their losses and aren’t willing to put anymore money into it for shipping?
I don’t want to hose anyone, but what am I going to do with 2 if they aren’t willing to provide the label?
