I am trying to change all the fluids in my 99 sportsman, I have everything squared away except ONE piece.
the front (what I call a differential) the thing that turns the wheels in 4wd, sits in the middle. Differential right?
I found a couple Polaris docs that say front diff fluid "N/A" other places say demand drive fluid....
Haynes manual that covers a bunch of models says polaris polaris front gearcase fluid or equivilant.
I know demand drive is for the hubs, and I changed that no problem, but I am confused about "the thing in the middle" between the front tires.
I prefer to use the polaris fluids, I know they are more expensive, but its just piece of mind.
So.... What do I use and how much.
I just changed it and used angle drive fluid, now I am pretty sure that's wrong. When I changed it 2 years ago that's what I used, I don't remember why.
These things run like a top, I got 2 of them, but I want to get this right.
Thanks for answering my stupid questions!!!
