keeping up with rusty muffler.

Removed my muffler today on the 570. Wire brushed it and painted it with rust-oleum hig temp paint 2000Deg.

Has anyone else painted there's and what paint did you use?

bought used 400 HO, looking for advice for maintenance

bought a quad to push the car around at the track a while back. not familiar with quads, and wanted to do basics like oil(s) and filter, etc....

unfortunately I don't have a manual of any kind for this 2006 outlander 400 HO. Are there any online to access?

do i have to buy special engine oil? is it a wet clutch?
anyone have a part number for the oil filter? hell i haven't even looked to see where it is on this machine, lol.
what type of transfer case fluid? and anything special for front and rear diffs?

should i stick with BRP greases?

I did a search but couldn't find anything specific. any help is greatly appreciated!

OEM Skid Plate P/N for 08 Max 800

I'm looking for the part numbers for all of the skid plates for an 08 800 Max LTD. I can't find my 2008 accessory book and it doesn't look to be online any more. I also didn't see skid plates in the parts diagrams on the BRP parts site.

Anyone have the part numbers for each of the OEM skid plates?

Tusk Warthogs

Hey guys, I was wondering if the Tusk warthog 27x9x14 & 27x11x14's will fit my 09 850XP without any tire weight or rub issues ? factory size is 26x8x14 & 26x10x14. the warthogs weigh about 10# more per tire. Thanks

28″ Zillas on stock 1000XT

I think I've finally decided which tire I want to upgrade to from the stocks on my 16 Outty 1000XT, my only question is can I fit 28x10X12 Front and 28x12x12 Rear on my stock rims without spacers and no lift? Does/has anyone on here ever ran that combo on a stock set up and if so can you please post photos of it! If 12" wide on the back doesn't fit without spacers I'll probably go 10's on the front and back.

blown engine 650 (2017) update

Hello, not really an update as I never posted about this before. So let's step back a bit...
New 2017 Outlander MAX XT 650 in July. It's the wife's bike. At first I smelled a bit of oil burning, though maybe it was the exhaust. I never ride behind her, so now skip ahead to around September 1st, 40 hours on the bike. Following her I could smell oil. Took off the side covers and found oil on the side of the engine, left side. Could not tell exactly where it was from. It was not low on oil either.
Took it to the dealer. Mechanic finds the problem!

There was a pin hole in the casting of the block, right in the bottom of the 'V' between the cylinders. Hole the size of a pen's ball head. Spitting out oil ever so gently....

It needs a NEW ENGINE!!!!

Well F--k. Bike is still new! I was somewhat peed off. I really was not keen on having a new bike torn completely apart for a new engine install!!

BRP has NO motor for at least 6 weeks. Geez, the bike was only 6 weeks old!! BRP customer service lady sucks balls.

Finally, 8 or 9 weeks later, my 650 is back together with a new long block.

I tried them on just giving or even selling me another new bike, or some sort of extra warranty. BRP customer service said it was not their problem! You know, if this was a 'ON road' vehicle, like a car or truck or motorcycle, here in Ontario we have OMVIC and I guarantee you I would have got a new vehicle!!

Luckily for me, just a week ago, the dealer called and said BRP has offered me a $1000 credit. Woohoo!

So I guess a bit of a happy ending....won't know how the bike works until the snow is gone!:aniwheeler6:

new member looking for help… front wheel issue

:wave:first and for most, thanks for adding me to group.:big-grin I'm a new member looking for some help and i am getting no where trying to search it. My 7 year old girl and i went riding through some muddy swamp terrain and got stuck which is normal for us. but being a good dad and wanting to teach her how to ride my 570sp hunters edition :angel so i decided to try and have her get us out. she released the winch and i walked with it to wrap a tree and had her pull and throttle her way out. well she ended up snapping the front axle...

:wtf: well me thinking like a fix it all for free or cheap guy i took the wheel pulled the axle out of wheel and grinded the axle off and reinstalled it back into the hud knuckle( i think thats what its called). took it for a test ride and seemed fine. then like 3000 feet from house front wheel locked up. i wasn't able to put cotter pin back in cause it wouldn't sit in far enough to put cotter pin and nut on hub. couldn't figure out why. seems like hub has a lot of play. so new axle cam in which is a caiman xhd axle. luckily i was able to pop off old one with two flat heads cause it was so short from snapping at pivot point. so now i was getting excited thinking i got this.... i installed the new one(thanks to youtube) and sure as shit it wont come out for enough into the hub to get washer, cotter pin and nut. i'm only able to screw on the nut a 1/4 of the way. hub and i guess knuckle still have alot of play. when i look inside where axle sides into wheel i see big ball bearing... am i suppose to see that or should it be sealed? is my wheel hub not lining into bearing properlly?:headache: i'm in need of some :duh:(your should know better) comments and some real help.

thanks for taking time reading this. i hope you guys can help my little one and I back into the woods and swamps.
