500 sportsman breaking rear ujoints

I have a customer with a 1998 sportsman 500 with eps. About 6 months ago he broke the right rear joint and carrier bearing housing. He simply replace it and it broke again. I did find the rear brakes were wore out and metal on metal. The caliper would heat up and the rear would lock up. Replaces pads and rotor and the locking up breaks went away. Now he has brought it back and the left side is destroyed this time. He said it did the same as before but said he thought it was the engine brake locking up? This is a stock bike and he uses it on a wooded lot. Doesn’t ride it hard at all. More of a work vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New xmr owner needs help

I just picked up a 15 xmr 800 the bike seems pretty solid right now but has some issues. One of the snorkels is broken off and it seems like something's are missing but this being my first can am I'm not sure here's a few pics I'm hoping for some help from the experts. I have one high beam one low beam and a tail light out anyone know the bulb numbers? I'm going to take some more pics and hopefully you all can help me make this bike whole again. You can see in the pic with the key side showing there's two hoses there kind of flopping are they supposed to be tied up or hooked somewhere? I also can't get the winch to free spool is there any tricks to that? Thanks in advance for any help.

Where’s the Yamaha ATV forums?

I like reading through forums before making a buying decision and this is a great forum for Can-Ams. Where the heck is a good Yamaha ATV forum? I've found several out there that are just ghost towns with latest posts being a year old or older. :th_smiliepullhair:

Loading/unloading ATV from an unhooked trailer.

Hello Forum,

I keep my ATV parked and secured under my carport which has a concrete floor. The problem with this is that I have to hook up the trailer to my truck every time I want to unload and load the ATV from the trailer so the front won’t tip up.

I placed 2 cinder blocks under the rear of the trailer but I haven’t attempted to drive the ATV off yet. I was thinking of placing 2 more cinder blocks up front so that most of the trailers weight (1600 lbs total with ATV) can be stabilized. This way I can safely drive the ATV on and off the trailer without having to hook it up to my truck.

Anyone here try this or have any better ideas?

Should I use 4 cinder blocks or but 4 jack stands instead?

I appreciate your input, recommendations, or your own way of doing this.

Thanks!

PS: You can see 2 cinder blocks under the rear of the trailer.

I have a 2000 Polaris sportsman 500. I took the recoil cover off. I have permatex blue rtv sealant. Can I use that instead of ordering a new gasket? I do go through a lot of mud and water. Please help

2014 Polaris 400 Motor locked up?

Hello all. A friend of mine has a 14 polaris 400 Sportsman. It only has about 100 miles on it. He only uses it in his yard.

Anyways. He was plowing snow today. Stopped to grab a shovel and the motor shut off and made a clunk. He thinks it locked up. Anyone else hear about issues with these before?

Thank you!
