2013 Sportsman 800

I've got a line on a 2013 sportsman 800, low miles <1000. Looks like it was used mudding.anything in particular I should pay attention to when I'm looking at it?

Thanks in advance

Oil in Air Filter box // !!

To refresh: first-time ATV Owner, bought a 2011 Sportsman 850 Touring EPS. Knew it was a little rough when I bought it, but have time to work on it.

NEW PROBLEM: When we pulled the air filter out of the filter box...I was surprised to find the lower surface of the air filter box with pooled oil. A fair amount of it too, since that surface has some ridges that breaks the surface up like little dikes.

I've tried searching on the forums, with limited results. So, turning to the assembled brain trust on this forum for help.

WHAT ARE POTENTIAL CAUSES?: From what few threads I could find, there appears to be two likely culprits.
  • OPTION A: Bad crankcase rebreather valve? Could be allowing engine oil to get into the air filter box.
    • QUESTION: is there a way to test this valve? Or do ya just replace it out. (and is that hard to do?)
  • OPTION B: The machine could have been rolled by previous owner, and somehow (not sure how myself) oil worked through engine and emerged into the air filter box, then just hung around contaminating the intake air. Oddly, the air filter was fairly clean...suggesting the air filter had been changed previously with oil present -- suggesting the previous owner didn't do me any favors.
    • QUESTION: What is best corrective action for this? Just clean out oil from the air filter box lower surface, and maybe check to to see if more comes back?
  • OTHER OPTIONS? And finally...does anyone know of any other possible causes for this problem (oil showing up in bottom of air filter box)?

As always, thanks for the help. I'm definitely in learning mode here, so all advice appreciated.

Yoshimura install on Rene XMR

Hey guys,
I noticed many people have installed the slip-on system to their Rene XMR’s. That being said, Yosh says it won’t fit XMR versions. Can anyone shed some light on what needs to be done to complete the install?

Intermittant ECU Failure?

HD8 Ignition and cooling fan fail intermittantly. Is it true that the ignition and cooling are both controlled by a single module, I have spent hours trying to solve these two issues separately. Now on the third coolant tank, the first two having split. Replaced the thermostat and the fan relay. I have caught the fan not running at times, right upto Hi Temp warning from cold engine, then run two or three runs without issue. Likewise Some runs ignition fails 10 -15 times then may go two or three months without issue.

I am now suspecting one cause for both issues

Any clues people?

2014 sportsman 850 wont start

My wheeler was overheating and did the chugging and wouldnt let you throttle like it's supposed to.....now it wont start. You can jump it.

Battery good
Attachment 116643
Ignition to relay power is good. Relay works. Power to solenoid 12 v. Little black connection is only 20 miliamps.

Is it possible the computer locked down starting for some reason????

Trailblazer 250, how stiff are shocks suppose to be?

Hi, I bought an '01 trailblazer 250 that had blown front shocks, so i bought new ones on ebay. However, with the new front shocks, the atv has no front end compression basically! I can even stand on the front of the chassis (I'm 150 pounds) and jump up and down and it will only compress about half an inch to one inch. It seems WAY too stiff to me... I've also got an 02 trail boss 325 that looks to have the same shocks, and is about the same weight, but that one is nice and plush, not too stiff at all. Are new shocks just that stiff, or is something wrong with them?
