Starting problems

Hi guys

need some advice. Have read all threads about starting issues but still cant explain what might be going on.

few month back from one day to the next it would no start just get the clicking noise from the relay in the back so I charge the battery and still the same. Took my car battery and jumped the quad. Crancking was slow but it started and so did my truck afterwards. Took battery to be load tested and it was low, so I goy a ew battery. Put it in and ist started with a bit of hesitation. good so far. went back to start it a couple of days later and just clicking again at the rear relay. so i checked everything from the relay to diodes and fuses up front fuses in the back. So just by chance I noticed that if i activated the brake it would start bit not everytime even though it was in neutral or parking. checked the gear indicator and changed them out as well as the ignition switch. checked out tha start button as well. Still it will start with brake applied either i gear or not but it wont start in neutral or parking as it used to. The rear relay just clicks. Sometime it has a hard time starting even with brake applied. what else could i look into?

Thanks
Mike

New to this site

I have owned Arctic Cat, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. They all served me well but I hated the Cat. It was a 2006 with a Kawasaki 650 engine. Worst motor I have ever owned. It would not run right until it was completely warmed up and the valves seated. Once I got my first Polaris....I never looked back. I have owned the Sportsman 400, 500, 550XP and now have the 850XP Touring and a RZR 800XC. I use to work at a Polaris Dealership. I do my own repairs and I am pretty good about finding out how to do so. I look forward to learning more from you all and maybe being able to help some.

Power steering help

Need a little help, I’ve got a 16 renegade 1000 xmr and the power steering has quit. It is throwing a DPS code, but I can’t find anything online about. I’m not sure if it’s a fuse, relay or the motor itself. Does anyone have any ideas on how to figure this out. For one thing, I can’t find the fuse, it’s not up front in the fuse box, so if someone can tell me where that’s at, that will be my starting point. I haven’t had a lot of time to look at it here lately, so that’s why I’m asking a “simple”question first😀 any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank in advance. Mike

Polaris 850 starting/ over heating issues

I was pushing snow yesterday and had to jump start my ATV twice. The second time I used my truck which I know isn't correct, but I had no other choice. 15 min later my ATV overheated light came on, lost engine power, and acted like it was missing. According to the owners book that's a fail safe for the engine. I attempted to restart the ATV, but nothing would happen.
I purchased a new battery, cleaned all terminals and cleaned the connections at the solenoid. When I attempt to start it now, the warning lights flash on and off quickly and the starter clicks.
I've read a lot about a breaker that controls the overheating (fan) and possibly something involving the starting of my machine. I will try to uploaded a video to the thread and hope it works. Any help or diagnoses would greatly be appreciated.

DPS not working after putting Tracks on

2016 Outlander 850 xt with 400km, put tracks on two weeks ago, BRP 360 with power steering module. Halfway through the first ride got warning Check DPS and Engine light flashing. Couldn’t change to DPS track mode and power steering went out.

Took it to the dealer and they told me it has done it on them also. The dealer has contacted BRP and waiting on a reply on how to fix it, as it is still under warranty. The dealer has no idea why is occurring.Attachment 76233

They have had the bike for two weeks now.

Fuel line to Carb freezes

Hi everyone,

I use my 2005 Polaris Sportsman 700 (carb) ATV for ice fishing. The problem I'm having is when we trailer the quad up north, usually its zero degrees out plus the wind chill of driving 70 mph on the interstate, the fuel is freezing in the metal fuel line that goes into the carburetor from the gas tank. The quad will not get any gas and will not start. I've put Heet fuel line antifreeze in the tank, mixed it up, and let the quad run for a while to get the mixture into the carb before loading it on the trailer and hauling it up north. We are going to Mobridge, SD or Devils's Lake, ND usually. This happens every year. The first year we thawed the line by putting a hair dryer on it for 20 minutes, the next year we put a propane heater under the quad for 20 minutes with a cover over the quad to keep the heat in, this last year we put them in a heated garage for 20 minutes to thaw them out. Once they get started they are fine for the rest of the trip, as long as we don't take them for a long ride on the trailer down the interstate.

What could I do or what have people done to prevent this? Would non-oxy race fuel and Heet in the tank fix this? I've tried premium non-ethenol fuel with Heet and that has not worked. I also thought about turning fuel petcock to off and running the ATV until its out of fuel so that it cant freeze in the line. Then just turn fuel petcock to on once I'm up north.

I've thought about putting some heat tape around it that I can just plug into a 120v outlet once I get up north, but cant find any heat tape small enough to wrap around it.

I can't get a cover over the ATV as I have a monster box on it for ice fishing stuff and I don't have an enclosed trailer.

Anybody have any bright ideas?

Thanks

Need service manual for ’95 Magnum 425 4×4

Just bought this rig last night and want to do some PM on it, but i cannot find a good copy of the service manual anywhere. Everything i found on here and google are dead links or redirects full of spam and such.

Can someone PM me a copy or point me in the right direction?!

New Sportsman 570 Owner

I've been lurking on the forum for a while now but never posted. Last month I purchased my first Polaris - a 2017 Sportsman 570. I only have a couple hours on it but I love it so far. I've put the Polaris winch and rack extenders on it and upgraded the wheels. I'll be taking it to the hunting camp down here in Alabama to finish out the season. Just thought I'd share a pic.
