The final round of the 2022 ATV Motocross National Championship Series (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship, once again pitted Phoenix Racing/CST Tires/Elka/Moose Racing’s Joel Hetrick and Wienen Motorsports/Maxxis/SSi Decals/Fly Racing/Yamaha’s Chad Wienen in a final battle to secure the number one plate.

The penultimate round of racing took place on Saturday, July 30 at Redbud MX. This track has a well-earned reputation for becoming one of the most brutal motocross tracks on the circuit and each year a new chapter is written on what at first appears a pillowy soft, sand based track that quickly erodes into a combination of endless bar twisting whooped out motocross madness.
