2016 Outlander Max 1000 Won’t Go Into Park

Hi there,

So earlier this winter, I was running tracks on my 2016 Outtie Max 1000 and I tried to go up and over a hillside to beat my brother who was taking the road over a hill. Needless to say, hills with snow on them don't look as steep as they are and I took a poor angle. I rolled my atv onto its side and had to winch it back upright with another 4 wheeler. Picture is attached....I couldn't figure out how to rotate it properly.

Now I am not sure if it happened then or later (I can't remember the last time it went into park and I wasn't driving my own machine a good part of the day so may not have noticed if it didn't go into park), but I certainly noticed the next day that I could shift to any gear but no matter what I did I could not get it back into park....but certainly started and shifted in all other gears and I rode it for most of the next day.

On another can am forum post (which I can no longer find) I recall someone mentioning something about a gear shift lockout that may be triggered for a number of reasons but is supposed to lock the machine in park so it can't be moved. The thought was that maybe the rollover triggered the lockout and that is why it won't go into park. Does anybody have any knowledge of this lockout or is it a can am urban legend.

If no knowledge, other suggestions of what it might be? It did not look like the gear shift lever was bent, although I did not look really close as I keep the atv in another state and was leaving town. I did talk to one dealer and they just wanted me to bring it in and I am hoping it's something dumb that is a quick fix.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Front axle bearing lube 98 Scrambler

Anybody out there help me on this one? I have a 98 Scrambler that finally has started to cost me in repairs. The front hub seals both let go, so I REPLACED THEM ALL. When I read the repair manual, it said to pack the innermost bearing and seal with Polaris grease?! Does this even sound right? I've had these hubs apart many times and just refilled them with type F. Now I am replacing both axle shafts (one bent somehow), and want to make sure I get things lubed right when I put it back together. My mind says that the type F lubes all the bearings, all 4 sets. That sound about right, or does the inner bearing get no type F and needs the grease? Of course I will grease all the seals to prevent burn out. Thanks.

850 sportsman idle but won’t rev

I have a 2011 sportsman 850 eps. It has a intermittent problem. Sometimes it will start fine and idle perfectly but will barely rev up at all. When you give it gas it will start to rev and then it like you turn the key off. If you keep throttle open it will die, if you let throttle off it will go back to idle. When it is doing this the check engine light comes on. You may go out the next day or an hour later and it will run as it should. I’ve checked the throttle switch under the cover on handlebars and it is operating as it should. Has me stumped. Any sugywould be appreciated.

New from Canada

2015 Outlander 1000 XT Max
Registered to bitch about the factory brakes. 458 km new pads all around. Dealer was honest. Got the same story I have seen on the site, Soft pads to be quiet. I am going with a Conspiracy theory to create service business at the dealerships ....LOL
I can count on both hands the times I have used the rear brake.

2011 outlander 800 xxc axle

looking for a front left cv axle for my 2011 outlander 800 xxc. I can't find anything that says it fits. most sellers claim regular 800r axles do not for an xxc, some say they do. can anyone verify that? I have been searching for weeks and can't not get an answer and have a ride coming way to soon with a broken axle.also the xxc is supposed to be the same as the 800 renegade. if so can I just buy a renegade axle? any info will be appreciated thanks.

Newbie needs help with wheel/tire selection

Hello guys, I just got back into wheeling and picked up a nice 2012 Sportsman 850 XP EPS. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what sizes I need and offsets. As far as tires go I wouldn’t mind going to a 27” and 1” wider all around without having to uses spacers. My problem is I want to still stay under 50” for trail riding. Right now it has the stock wheels and tire and I’m not sure of the offsets yet of them. Anyone have and pics and measurements of their quad to help me out or any advice I’d really appreciate! Thanks and glad to be a member here and back on a Polaris!

12v Power Supply on Headlight Pod – 2014 Sportsman 570

Anyone have thoughts on most likely reason for the 12v Power Supply (cigarette lighter) on the headlight pod to stop working? I would assume either fuse or wiring issue? Not much else to it. I pulled the headlight pod and confirmed wiring good at both ends so would guess the fuse. Also I don’t have a service manual so can anyone tell me which fuse I need to check for that power supply. Thanks!
