Choke Cable 12mm Nut Tip!

Just finished replacing the choke cable on a 2005 Sportsman 400 I was working on this weekend (I buy and sell them on the side to make riding more financially neutral). Anyways, I got stuck trying to take off the 12mm nut on the side of the carb, and wanted to offer a new solution that I don't think any have suggested yet. Because I was replacing the entire cable, it didn't matter if I cut it--so I did, right next to the 12mm nut. After doing this, a 12mm 1/4" drive deep socket fit over the nut with no clearance issues. Took less than 2 minutes total with a cost of about $15 for the new cable. My advice to anybody that's trying to completely remove a carb would be to order a used cable on eBay for $15, save yourself some time and just cut it so you can remove it quickly. Easy, simple solution. Notching a wrench is a much more refined solution--just wanted to share what I did in case you don't have the tools or skills to notch a wrench!

According to the caption, this is apparently a challenging obstacle that many people are afraid to attempt when going forward. Whether he was out to impress or just challenging himself, this guy managed to scale it in reverse. Another AWD question, can’t find in searches

Hello Polaris folks
My 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700 has a centralized hilliard , not on the hubs and my switch lights up fine, indicators for gears and all work in cluster but no speedometer speed reading. I would like to know how to test front gear case before taking it out. I have voltage on the two pin connector ( only one white connector). I have it up on stands and it just got fresh polaris oil ( yes right stuff) .. Apologies if it's already in forms but every search I do talks about hubs, I don't have wires on or near my struts. Thanks

Thanks for the approval to join the group.

I am having some issues with my sportsman 500 4x4 system.

It shows that it is in 4x4 but to get it to kick in, i have to spin the tires on ice or mud and then it will grind really hard on the front and kick in.

Any idea what the issue could be?

Thank-You,

Starting Over–tires

I have been wanting to replace my stock tires on my 2015 1000 XTP--12” Beadlock, I had read everything till my eyes watered--you know what I mean. I had settled on the Kinda Bearclaw HRT as the best for me. Desert to Mountain trails in the west. Then I read something that HRTs tend to leak with Beadlock wheels. I emailed Kenda with the question and they said that, indeed the HRTs do leak with Beadlock--They don’t know why. So Back to the drawing board--Let’s see, there were Zillas, Grim Reapers, Reptiles--What would work best for me--I have had very poor luck with the stocks. Flats, sidewall fails. I've had Big Horns and thery are bullet proof but lack lateral stability--Still I miss them. So what the best all around 12” tire for my 1K XTP ? Sand, Hard pack, Rocks--no mud. Kinda of course recommends their new Mastadon AT-- Blackwater evolution? TerraCross? Overwhelmed.

Xmr exhaust question

I am curious if it will hurt to drive the 2016 570 xmr in water and mud with the clean out plug out of my stock exhaust. I have lost it and can’t find a replacement anywhere. Also... I kinda like how it sounds without it in. If anyone can answer this it would be great, or if anyone has info how to get a replacement. I’ve called two shops to no avail. Thanks in advance!
