2014 sportsman 570 bogs and dies in 2wd but fine in 4wd

Just bought this machine three weeks ago and have had it out twice in the mud for 10+ Hour days without any problems until now.

I went up north with my buddy to atv into his cottage and when I went to unload the machine it started right up but would bog when I hit the throttle and die if I held the throttle. And the engine light would come on every time I hit the throttle. I thought it just needed to warm up a bit since it was only the second time I’d used it in the cold so I babied it off the trailer and let it idle for ten mins or so but it was still acting up and would only rev up to 3300rpms before bogging out and dieing again.

We decided the quad wasn’t usable so I left it on the trailer and took the boat in while my friend took his atv in.

Fast forward to today. The truck got stuck trying to tow the trailer up the hill and my friends atvs 4x4 conked out so I tried my atv and it would run fine in 4x4 but would bog and die and have the engine light come on anytime I tried to move it while in 2x4.

I was able to use my machine to tow the trailer up the hill and had no problems with it revving up and had tons of powe while it was in 4x4 but would bog and die if I tried to move it even without the trailer on if I was in two wheel drive. Engine light would still come on in two wheel drive when I hit the throttle but wouldn’t come on at all in 4wd

Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Thanks

i replaces rear brake line now i cant get brakes i bleed and bleed its on 2012 outlander 1000

Front end issues please help!! 16 XT

So I have a commander with a SATV 2.5" lift and what could cause my steering to make a little popping noise when I turn the wheel? Also just replaced the tie rods 40 miles ago with SATV tie rods and the passenger side has some play in my opinion...Could these be rack issues? My commander is a 16 xt with approx 600 miles on it. Also when I shake the tire side to side the passenger tire has play and not the driver side. So I put my hand and squeeze the inner tie rod and it feels like it has play in it, but it SHOULD NOT. My factory tie rods felt this way and made a thudding noise when driving down a main road at about 25mph thats honestly not very rough. So I upgraded and the play got a little better now its back to the way it was now with a new moderate popping noise when turning the steering wheel.

Old style Polaris plow on 2017 850!

Well I was able to make a bracket to mount an old style Polaris glacier plow, frame etc (came off an 09 rzr) to my 2017 850 sp. I couldn't handle paying 900 bucks for a whole new set up. The plow/ frame and mount cane from my father who sold his rzr a few years ago and kept the plow. Here are some pics. Feels good not to shovel.

introdution

Hi i'm Suzan I'm new to forums and ATVs. My husband purchased a 2013 Polaris 550 Touring ATV and he maintained it and rode it. I rode it occasionally. my husband passed away and now I have this ATV which i would like to keep because i live in the country and can use it for snow removal, etc. He installed a blade to the front of it

Now I am trying to figure out what I am doing. The battery has died so i purchased a new battery at the polaris dealership and the gentleman explained briefly how to remove and install the battery.

I have the old battery removed and the new battery charged and put in, but it seems i have too many wire connections to the battery. could anyone tell me the order to put the battery wires to the terminal. I removed 3 wires from the negative side and not sure on the red side. any suggestions on where to look for diagrammed help?

ATV Weight, what does your weight, pros cons?

Finally purchased a quad after much looking and chatting with peps who own quads.

One thing that surprised me initially was the weight of quads about 600 lbs; but what really surprised me was the 2011 500 ho that I just bought weights in at just under 700 lbs. What I was originally shooting for was a smaller quad that could be easily moved around; but then eventually realised that Id get better use of of something a little bigger; but missed checking the weight spec on the 500.

SO question is why so heavy?. the only plus I can see is it would handle trailer weight better. Less weight means more expensive materials to manufacture ...

On the west coast at the moment but this will live in the Cariboo plateau in interior 1200m elevation, (3,600 ft) with intermittent use. First thing to do will be to buy another jr battery tender with quick connect; then review storage procedure.

Howdy! Just beginning to collect needed info on my new to me 2011 Sportsman 500 HO; lower km's at 2500 km's @ 250 hrs .

In most need of a pdf Service Manual for 2011 Sportsman 500 HO so I can do a good mech once over this winter. Found a good popular post pinned at the top started in 2012 where you could purchase pdf ser man's for $8; is he still selling them? and found another site that just sold pdf for $10 but didn't have my specific model; its the specific "2011 Spman 400-500 HO" (carb-ed) service man needed.

Which leads to the first question; Im smelling gas; this might be left over smell due to transporting it home in a trailer from the gentleman I bought it from; or a warren carb needle and seat.

Other suggestions on known stuff to check would also appreciated; shift lever seems a bit loose, side to side, is that normal? will do as much preventative maintenance over the winter.
