Aftermarket rim balance.

Does anyone find it necessary to balance aftermarket atv rims. I bought a brand new set of HD rims and there is quite a bit if wobble in them at higher speeds. It would have to be sticky weights but feel like they would come off trail riding and in water.

05 Sportsman 700.. NO POWER

Just bought a 05 Sportsman 700 (CARBED) the other day and rode it all day no problems loaded it on the trailer got home went to start it to unload off the trailer and it had no power at all with key on or off. I bumped the head light on the handlebars with my hand and I had power again. I started it and it ran for like 5 seconds then shut off with no power again and haven't had power since then. I'm getting 12v to the yellow wires on the ignition switch & the kill switch wires all have .50v or less to them. Is there anything I can test with a voltage meter? ECM bad?

Wax or plastic polish?

Just picked up a new 2017 sportsman 570. First thing I did was peeled all the warning stickers off (looks way better). I would like to put a coat of something on all the plastics and wheels before I take it out riding for the first time. I was thinking about applying a coat of automotive wax. What do you guys use on your quads? I would like any protection I can get to keep the plastics from little scuffs and to make it easier to keep clean. Thanks for any tips guys!

2018 Can-Am Commander Mossy Oak Edition vs. Polaris General Hunting Edition

The 2018 Can-Am Commander Mossy Oak Edition and Polaris General Hunting Edition are a pair of Sport-Utilty UTVs ready for action in the woods. Let’s see how they compare…by the numbers.

Now that we’re into fall and the hunting season, a lot of UTVs are getting pressed into service as hunting rigs as well as utility machines. But what if you don’t want as much utility as a Polaris Ranger, or Can-Am Defender, but still want a capable hunting machine? There are a lot of UTV owners who want more recreation than utility functionality, and for those buyers, Polaris makes the General and Can-Am has long had the Commander.

Both of these are amazing trail machines and a lot of fun to drive. They are also both offered up as hunting editions that make them perfect rigs for the adventuring outdoors person looking for the fastest way to the hunt. Which is better for you? Let’s take a look by the numbers.

2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail 1000 Review + Video

We recently had a chance to test out the brand new, 50-inch 2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail at high elevation in Utah’s High Uinta Mountains.

The segment that started it all for the reenergizing of our industry was the 50-inch Side-by-Side. Although UTVs have evolved significantly since then, it is still an important machine to this day – especially so for those who ride on width-restricted trails. The latest addition to this class is the 2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail.

Fast Facts
Base MSRP: $12,999
Seating Capacity: 2
Engine: 976cc V-Twin
Power: 75 hp
Width: 50 in.

The 2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail comes from the factory in either an 800 or a 1000 displacement engine and it is just like Can-Am to have several trim models not only for budget but for welcomed add-ons for those who want them. This Sport UTV sit 50-inches wide and has a longer than expected 90.6-inch wheel base. This gives the driver and passenger a little more balance, stability and builds confidence on the trail. Not only does this build driver confidence, but for a tall or larger rider it gives you more room in the cab. Can-Am calls this its improved Ergo-Lok cockpit.

The Red Devil: Modded Mondays

This Maverick X3 is wicked HOT!

There’s little doubt in anyone’s mind that SDR Motorsports is one of the premier custom UTV builders in the world. In true SDR fashion, it pulled out all the stops for the Sand Sports Super Show and debuted this immaculate fire red Maverick X3 dubbed “Il Diavolo Rosso” or The Red Devil in Italian.

2017 Sportsman 850 SP Headlight Removal

Hello All,

New to forum. My right front headlight on my 850 SP recently filled with muddy water. Rather than clean, I ordered a new headlight. Has anyone on this forum removed the front headlights from the vehicle. It has a screw tab on top and two side tabs that LOOK like they are just inserted in holes. I started to remove the headlight and the tab facing inward would not release from the hole and you can not get to it with your hands. Based on this I believe there is a screw that holds the inside tab. This would mean disassembly of a good bit of the front end which would basically mean Polaris wants you to bring to dealer for removal. There is no reason what so ever for a screw there except for that purpose. It was getting dark when I was working on this so I gave up for the time being. I am deciding on whether or not I feel like taking the front of the vehicle apart or bring it to dealer. If anyone on the forum has removed the right or left front headlights and has some insight on how to do please share the info so I can decide if I feel like doing it or fork over the money.

Thanks,
