I have a 600 twin sportsman that has set for a couple years in my garage. I took the carb off and took it apart it was horrible so I dipped it and cleaned it. Put it back together and went to fire it up it took off and was high idle for about 15-20 sec and died. After that it wouldn’t hit a lick just turn over. I took the plug out and it was bad so I installed a new one and hit the key and it did the same thing high idle for 15-20 sec and died and wouldn’t hit again please help anyone else seen this???
XMR Exhaust/Airbox Issue?
So I read on a snorkel website that exhaust heat burning through the airbox is a known problem on all XMR models. Anyone ever hear about or run into this issue? If so how do you fix or prevent it? Aluminum heat tape?
Battery drain
I have a 06 sportsman 500HO (carb model) used it on farm the other day, everything was fine then the speedometer and battery light start flashing. Ten minutes later it dies, want start with key but would pull start,go 50 yards and die. Repeated this process till I got it back to my shop. Messed around with it a little, put battery charger on and charged it. Runs fine till battery drains. Charged again so I could keep messing with it. Yesterday while it was running I disconnected the battery and it died immediately, hook it back up and does fine until battery is drained. Read voltage at battery and only reading 12.7 volts while running. Makes me lean towards the stator. What do yall think. Thanks

Belt slipping (not wet) 2011 outlander max 800r
Hello all... I have seen so many posts about belts slipping and burning and 99% of them come to the same conclusion... water getting in or clutch kit required....
This is not my case... I have an 800 Outlander Max 800 (2011, G1)
- I run 28's on 14" rims. (Maxxis Big Horn 2.0 & ITP SS212's)
- I have a Dalton Clutch kit. (Correct model and set up)
- I use the HD BRP Belts. (HAve tried others but found BRP to be the best so far.)
- The Belt cover is sealed and NEVER gets wet. ( I have inspected it many times)
I can clearly hear the belt slipping and squealing when I'm really torquing the machine getting over obstacles or trying to get unstuck from mud.
Then if I don't back off the throttle the good old familiar smell of burning rubber fills the air. :-)
Any thoughts???

Replaced starter but what does this tube go to?
2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I was finally able to get the starter off at lunch today. I had my ratchet pinned between the lower bolt and the clutch cover. This machine for some reason likes me to wait a day to make progress. I fought with it for 45 minutes yesterday. Today, I go out and in 5 minutes I have my ratchet back and I'm putting the new starter in. But I noticed there was a small tube (I'm assuming it's a vent to something) laying along the starter. It's small diameter and has a one-way valve or check valve on the end by the oil filter (at least that's where it was.) The other end seems to wrap around the starter and dead ends there. I didn't disconnect it (unless I bumped it off) and I don't see a section of hose dangling that it could or would attach to. I'm hoping omeone out there can tell me. I've stopped re-assembly just in case. The photo shows the valve and the position it wants to lay in. Is it coming off the bottom of the carb? I'm assuming there should be a section of tube as well.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Secondary clutch interchangeability
Can you use a secondary clutch from a 2013 Polaris Ranger 800 (PN 1322848) on a 2013 Polaris Ranger 500 (PN 1322962)?
2005 500HO Won’t Start
I've read thru a few threads on no start conditions but haven't seen one that reflects my problem exactly.
Ran the quad a few days ago...ran great. went to start it yesterday and nothing. Acted like a dead battery. Tried to jump it..no deal. Checked voltage had 12.9 at the battery. Took the battery out and put it on an auto charger. It turned off, showing full charge after less than a minute. Re-installed the battery. Tried to pull start it but got nothing there also. Checked voltage from the battery to the relay? in line between the battery and solenoid and have power on both sides and to the solenoid. Still have no power to anything. Instruments, winch, headlights are all dead.
From what I've seen on You Tube looks kinda like an ECM issue but it got dark so couldn't check voltage there or the ignition.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Starter Sportsman
2017 Polaris Highlifter 1000. when turning the key the first time the solenoid clicks on starter but the starter does not turn over, turning the key on and off a couple of times gets it to work properly and start. Will be replacing the starter since I'm going on a long trip to make sure. This is my second sportsman with a starter issue on a newer bike (2015 Sportsman 850) anyone else have issues with starters? luckily I found a starter online that is substantially cheaper then the one made of gold by Polaris :|
