MR RPM Valve Covers
Just had my valves checked at the dealer and had the dealer install the Mr RPM cast valve covers instead of reusing the brp black plastic ones. My question is will the cast valve covers radiate more heat out than the brp plastic ones or is the heat about the same? .....I also noticed that the fool mechanic has some of my clear plastic breather tubes from the diff, gearbox, etc that run up to the instrument pod laying on top of the new cast valve cover. Isn’t this a bad idea???? I am going to zip tie the tubes off of the valve cover just to be safe but is it possible that the heat from the cast valve covers will get hotter and possibly have a higher chance of melting tubes, etc than the plastic valve covers did? ???
2018 Defender XT-P tuned different?
Hello Everyone:
New to Can Am forum, just purchased a new 2018 Can Am Defender XT-P model, pick it up next week.
From all the reading I have done about this model it states it has been tuned different than the other Defenders. It is tuned to be more aggressive or sportier? Can any body shed some light on this for me.
My last SxS was a Polaris General, nice machine but too many issues, recalls etc.
Clutch and belt problems and noisy .
Hope the Can Am works out for me, I sure like the fit and finish, very well put together.
Thanks

05 Magnum 4×4. Replacing rear propshaft U joint
Do I have to remove the whole swing arm to get to it? Already pulled rear axle, and still not enough room.
I so, is it just those 2 large pins with a 1/2 square hole?

My new Polaris Sportsman 450
I just purchased a new Polaris 450. When the engine is idling the engine has a tick. Is this normal ? This is my first Polaris so I am not familiar with their engines. I was going to change the oil and use Amsoil. I wonder if that will quiet the engine down. Any help or advice would be great.
A good winch for the price?
I am looking to get a winch for my ‘16 570. But I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg. Any suggestions?
Recoil pawl won’t spring out.
The 2005 sportsman 500 ho was having some starting issues last spring. I figured it was the starter going out. The recoil was slow to retract as well. I figured before fall I'd put in a new starter, Bendix and rebuild the recoil. Started in on it today. Bendix swap was easy. I changed out the main recoil spring, kept the Polaris rope, the rope carrier (no idea on the name) the pawl, the pawl retract spring, friction spring, and friction washer. When I tighten things down it won't spin. So I backed it off to snug and still spinning. However the pawl won't pop out when I pull the rope. It has to be something with the friction spring/washer putting too much drag on the pawl. It is greased. I watched one the the videos on YouTube saying the friction spring should be roughly parallel to the pawl. Tried that. I'm strumped at this point. Thanks for any help.
