2005 Sportsman 800 EFI. ATV has been running great until today. My son was driving and noticed a lack of power. We removed seat and noticed oil in the Air Box. The unit hasn’t been rolled, tipped over, trailered or run up or down steep hills. I read different forums and received different answers. Some say a very dirty filter could cause lack of power and there were many thoughts of oil in the air box. Any thoughts or ideas of what to look for would be appreciated.

oil dipstick location?
Hi, I bought 1999 explorer 300cc atv. I think it may be a 2 stroke. Do i mix the oil gas? Only dipstick doesnt have a stick on it? It shuts off when running. I am assuming this has somthing to do with oil level. Any ideas?

2017 Sportsman 850 Popping
Hey Guys,
My sportsman has a little pop/backfire on deceleration.
Has anybody experienced this and if so what was the cause/solution?
It also seems to stutter a bit on initial smash of the throttle?
Thanks!

Brp Footwell Skid Plates
Has anyone on here installed the Brp aluminum foot well skid plates before? I have a 2017 Outlander Max XT 1000 and tried installing them a couple of days ago. It seemed like the front of the plates had the wrong angles and the bolts were too short to reach the inserts. If the plates had the right bends it would sit flush and the bolts would reach. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem? I checked the part numbers and they are showing they are the correct ones.
Icon on the Display is not in service manual
Hi everyone, this is my first post but been lurking for years, as I've had a Polaris 550XP since they were first released in late 2008. I love it.
Lately though, after ten years :grin it's got an intermittent problem, and I can't figure out what it is. The icon isn't in the service manual that I could find, so I took a picture one time when it cam on, so here it is. It's that tiny thing that looks like an axle in bottom left corner under the "L". See the attached picture.
Usually when that pops up my AWD disengages. But it doesn't hang around long. Frustratingly it can pop up when I really need AWD and then I'm stuck waiting for it to go away.
Anyone have any idea what this is, what it means, and what I should do about it? I've changed all the fluids on all the gear boxes and the front drive system.

Mod to temporarily initiate 4×4 Engagement
Hi all I am new to the forum and new to ATV's. I just picked up a very low hours (130) 2013 Sportsman 400 HO and really love it. However I am not completely sold on the Automatic 4x4 engagement. While it works great under normal conditions there are times when "Jumpstarting" the 4x4 mode is useful. I found this out when testing it for the first time..
I tried to climb over a small wood deck in the yard that is about 10" vertical off the ground. When I pulled up to it and started giving it gas It was trying to push the deck rather than using the front wheels to climb up. Then when the rear wheels slipped and caused the 4x4 finally engaged it was rather aggressive and shot up in the air and over. This is completely unnecessary and dangerous to have it that way. I researched this and studied the schematics. It seems that when the 4x4 switch is on there is power to the AWD Hub Coil. but not grounded. When the electronics sense rear slippage the Speedometer circuit GROUNDs the AWD coil and engages it.
What I am thinking now is to simply add a momentary switch on the grips that I could press just before I start to climb and let it go once 4x4 is engaged
From the Schematics I see adding a momentary switch from the 41 BN/WH wire to Ground. Would be nice to just convert the Reverse Override switch to work in Low Forward as well.
Thoughts?
