What to do

Hello everyone ... Well I'm excited I just bought a 2015 Sportsman xp 1000 .. It has 960 miles on it... I'm a person that likes to do my own maintenance I'm pretty handy with everything pretty much.. but my Question is what should I keep an eye out for being this is my first 4x4 automatic bike.. I want to do a tune up oil, filter and plugs... what else do you recommend me reviewing or changing out...??

800EFI Fuel Consumption – 2-3 mpg/ or 2 gal/hour

Hi

I am a new owner of a second hand Polaris Sportsman 800EFI 2007. It looks great and seems well taken care of. Came from service with new fuelpump, oil, crank and temp sensor. Pulls like a beast!

It runs great, but if i pump the throttle/rev it in neutral, it sputters. The odo has been swapped, and rpm does not show.
These are the only clues I have for my problem - it uses, what seems to me, alot of gas: 2-2,5 gall/hours or 2-3mpg.

Now, if I had driven it hard using the throttle alot, it would be fine. But Im using it for driving in low speed with frequent stops/idling. Some times pulling 200lbs for 2-3 minutes, but mostly small distance driving at low speed around 10mph. Sometimes it runs for 5 minutes, other times 25-30.

Is this to be expected or is it abnormal? Is there something I should check or is likely to be the fault form this? Oil seems fine, not using any water, starts fine. No fault codes present.

Thanks for any help! If this continues, i might have to swap it out for a less thirsty one :sad

Mav belt upgrade PN change?

I am looking to upgrade to a Mav belt.
Looking on here everyone says its PN: 715900212 but when going to buy the Canam system says its been replaced by PN: 422280364

My question is, is the belt still as good or have they switched to a cheaper belt?

All the posts seem to be old who mention the old PN and a search brings up nothing on the new PN. Be nice to know if I should stick with go with a Gates if the Mav one is rubbish now.
