My son and I need some advice. We have a 2009 800 x renegade. And it lost a battle with a tree head on. Fortunately we were traveling very slow on a beginners trail learning the terrain and he’s ok. Anyway, the frame is bent most likely beyond recovery. Yet to be stripped down, but looks rough. QUESTION; can I use (used salvage) another year renegade frame and / or different engine size? In my parts research, I see part numbers matching from an 08’ 500 same part number as 09’ 800. Interesting and confusing. Help please.

I was given a 90s era trailboss 350 from a family member who had no use or want for it. It has grey plastics and a red seat and that’s really the only way to describe it because half of it is in a box currently. He was in the middle of fixing it up and just gave up. The majority of the front end is completely apart but it does run. Me and a buddy the other day hot wired it (the ignition won’t budge with the key i was given and will end up needing a new one) and got it to run off of starter fluid and the pull start. Ive looked high and low for a vin# and can’t seem to find one anywhere. We think it’s somewhere between a 91 and 93 because the radiator has a year on it but i can’t think of it off the top of my head. I’ll post a picture of it in the later on today to see if any of you guys here know what year it could be or where i could possibly find a vin#. thank you.

I recently bought a 2015 renegade xxc 1000 . I was riding at atv park and hit a rut sideways . The front left wheel has a lot of negative camber now. What most likely bent ?

A few months ago I was out for a ride and the bike shut down while I was trail riding at approx 30mph. This happened several times and I initially put it down to a ignition switch issue and power dropping out(I had to move key from lights to on while starting it at times). I replaced the switch and all had been going well until a few days ago. Riding along and then all of a sudden engine just stopped. I’m know thinking it could be the kill switch playing up but have also been told the fuel pump can do this. On most occasions if I cycle the key it will start almost instantly but not always. Any ideas before I go replacing parts unnecessarily? Have thought about putting a pressure gauge on the fuel but since it’s so intermittent it might not show anything).

Hey everyone, first time (hopeful) can am owner. Currently own a ‘16 sportsman 570. Looking for something a little more capable and reliable. I’ve been eyeing up the 650 outlander xmr. Now I can get an ‘18 for a pretty decent price, somewhere around 9200, or I could get a ‘19 (dealer said somewhere just shy of 10k). Is the new suspension and arched a arms worth the extra 5-700? Is there any other changes I’m missing? Or do I ditch both of those and go for an 850? (Unofficial quote for a ‘19 was around 11k). Mostly do a lot of trail riding and like to hit mud when I can. I’m not a hard core bogger but still like to run some deep stuff when I have the opportunity. Thought about getting an outlander dps but there’s a lot on the xmr that I would put on it anyway and I figured it would probably be more expensive to build than buy the xmr package. New to the forum and to can am. We recently inherited a small chinese quad for my 7 yr old son and hey, I couldn't just let him go wandering off on the trails on his own now could I !? :devil

So after much research and looking at quite a few used quads, I found a relatively low mileage/hr 2010 Outlander Max locally and pulled the trigger on it. To be honest, after test riding the first Outlander I looked at I quit looking at other make/models and targeted this specific bike. I liked it that much compared to others in it's class and price range. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Mainly interested in chasing my son on trails, but I see a plow in my future as well. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from the forum.
