2017 Sportsman XP 1000 – Squirrley at 50 MPH?

Hi guys,

Need some serious advice on three things, if you have time. Based on your personal riding experience:

1. At speeds in excess of 45 mph (not exceeding 50), on a good, smooth highway, my Sportsman XP 1000 Touring gets "suirrley," meaning squishing or yawing/twitching. With one person. Pretty disconcerting. Something I need to get used to? Factory tires need to be replaced (600 miles)?

2. Headgear: for mixture dirt roads and high speed highway, what are you guys putting on your head? Goggles, bandanas, ball cap backwards, helmet?

3. Windshield: At the kind of speeds we're talking here, would a mid- or tall Polaris windshield block wind? If so, approx how much? Cut down wind noise?

(Please no smart-ass remarks-these are pretty serious questions)

Thank you,
Scott

Can am max rear storage HOTTT!!

I have a 2018 can am outlander 570 max xt. I love everything about it but the factory rear storage is basically useless. It gets way too hot in there to store anything. Last night I went for a ride and had my phone and house keys in there. The keys were too hot to touch and my phone had powered off because it got too hot. Anyone else having this problem?

you need to mourn. I have always been led to believe, both academically and socially that the modify of every day lifestyle is an all-natural pattern undergone by females in their late forties and fifties. I was also aware of the psychological and actual changes accompanying the modify of lifestyle, following my conversation with girls have noticed it. But it came as a blow when I practice a brief material on Early Menopause that said that the hydra claire cream modify of lifestyle can take place even before 40 - in 20's, 30's and even in teens. Suddenly, time that had seemed so far away were in my proximity. Menopause was not anymore something that pronounced females ageing existence on Earth, it was something that could shatter a females dream of motherhood. This regarded provoked me to know more about Early Menopause. I share through the details what I learnt about this condition, with my fellow females. First aspects first... let's obvious the confusion between starting the modify of lifestyle and the modify of lifestyle. Though both these circumstances usually imply the modify of lifestyle before the conventional age (normal age being between late 40s and starting 50s), doctors diagnose and put a name to it in accordance with the age at which the modify of lifestyle happens. If one undergoes the modify of lifestyle before 45, medically it is Early Menopause; if the modify of lifestyle sets in before Forty years of age, it is Premature Menopause. Premature Menopause is sometimes used interchangeably with Premature Ovarialandular cease frequent functioning before Forty years. However; there lies a difference between both these circumstances. In the modify of lifestyle there is a total cessation of menstrual flow whereas females with POF can experience irregular times for a while time,

Traxter Starter Clutch Issues

I am brand new to this forum. I am a proud owner of a 2001 Traxter XT 500 and I have a starter issue that I discovered yesterday. The engine turns over but after a second or two I get a god awful sound coming from inside engine. When I take plugs out and crank it over is sound fine. Everthing seems to be normal. Also checked compression and it is at 160 psi. The engine only has about 2000 km so it has had a pretty easy life so far. After reading a few old threads on this site and elsewhere, it seemed pretty apparent that the problem was the starter clutch (sprag clutch). I have been told that it would cost about 2 K to have it fixed at dealer. I am thinking of tackling the job myself. Not too worried about getting at the parts but a little concerned about the reassembly. Sounds like there are a few tricky steps to follow. Was wondering if there is anyone out there that has done this job or if there are some instructions available somewhere. I would appreciate any information regarding this. Also will need to order gasket and sprag clutch parts. Any suggestions on where I can get the best parts at reasonable price?

Thanks.

ADC Issue

My buddy and I have both Polaris 1000XP and we both went down the this steep hill in Wyoming and we used the ADC. After we got to the bottom smoke was coming out the belt vent and it started to creep and squeal and not shift very easy. I don’t know why this happened using the ADC. We went down it a couple times before this not using it and nothing happened. But we wanted to try that feature out and it didn’t go well. Any thoughts why this would happen? His was a brand new machine and mine has 500 miles on it.

98 Polaris sportsman 500 trouble starting

Hi guy im new to this site and Im looking for some advice. My brother loaned his ATV to a friend and got it back not running. Its a 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500. He brought it to my house since I am quite mechanically inclined. I tried everything under the sun and nothing. So after about a 3 days of web searches. I read that there was a drain plug on the recoil casing. So i ventured into removing the plug and there was water and mud in the case. So after cranking and cranking and no start. I tried pull starting it and well that was not happening it was caked with mud. So since it had a drain plug what the worst that could happen if I flush it out with the hose to clean out the mud?? Well.... i went to crank it over while adding water and bam fired right up!! Now its running great again and the starter bendix went. So i replaced the bendix and while i had the case off i pressure washed the flywheel, stator, and recoil starter. there was some surface rust on the stator so i lightly sanded them clean it was good for a half of day and not back again trouble starting. Now i rebuilt the carb, put new ignition coil, new plug and wire and NOTHING. So I thought about it and said what if i add water again to recoil case.... Well i did and AGAIN started right up?? Anyone have any idea what is going on?? Is my stator bad? Why does it run when there is water in it?? Im thinking of some sort of connection it making using water. I need help. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! TIA Robert

Rear storage for Sportsman Touring

I know there are tons of boxes/bags out there for storage, but most don't fit the touring's small rear rack. I'm looking for a trunk or small bed that you can drop a chainsaw and a couple small fuel cans into. It's fine If I have to remove the rear seat back. Don't care if it's a wrap around type, or just a straight basket/bed. One of the trunks that has a seatback would be perfect, because I could remove mine and still have comfort for two. Some of the hard plastic boxes have "pass thru" from left to right, but have never seen a review where it shows a chainsaw fitting into it. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
