I just got my top end put back together and it wouldn’t start and every now and then it would back fire like a shotgun, so I figure the timing is off and it’s loading up. So I ordered a fly wheel puller and pull it to check the keyway and key, both were in working condition, I grabbed the pulse generator and I could move the plate that the pulse generator and the stator is mounted to and it was very loose, actually looks like it was bouncing around for a little bit, so I need help determining the setting for the plate so the timing is on. I found a timing mark on the case but I am guessing where the other mark was got worn off by the plate bouncing around on the screws. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
