My display won't keep up with the correct time. Any ideas? Thought it was battery connections, battery itself, or something else. I am a little confused.
Timing chain popped off after counterweight broke
Hey guys just bought an 07 400 outlander. First run bike loses power and shuts off. Removed valve cover and found timing chain off cam sprocket and peice of metal broken off cam weight. Where the timing chain popped off will the piston hit and damage valves? I have all timing gear ordered and case split to replace but didn't want to take head off. Any tips before installing everything would be appreciated as Well!
Cooling system wellness check ?
As some of you may have noticed , I posted a thread with a cooling system issue I had the other day .
I'm pretty sure it's resolved but I got to wondering :
Is there a way to ensure the fan , temp sensor and relays are all functioning correctly without running the bike until it's time for the fan to kick on ?

’17 Sportsman 570 Touring air filter kit part #’;s
Hello,
I have a 2017 Sportsman 570 Touring with 35 hours and 255 miles on it. I have never replaced my air filter. I looked at my owners manual but don't see any part #'s listed.
I want to buy the:
MAIN FILTER,
PRE-FILTER,
&
BREATHER VALVE
Anyone have or know where I can find the part #'s for these?
Also, I read somewhere that Dodge Neon air filters will work on these. Is this true? If so what is the benefit of using the Neon ones?
Thank you

Brake clean for engine internals??
I’m replacing the top end and the water pump seals/bearings on my 02 Scrambler 400 and the inside is pretty dirty. Is it ok to spray it down with brake clean so clean it out?
2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 X2 EFI shows “HOT” on dashboard. Engine will not start.
Hello
Problem statement:2007 Polaris sportsman 500 X2 EFI shows HOT on dashboard. Engine will not start – or turn over.
* The gas pump- I hear humming from the gas tank.
* The valve atop the carburetor is actuating (on /off) plunger - type valve, sits above the flapper valve.
* Fan has 2.5v going to it—cycling 1.6v to 2.5v. I ran 12 v to the fan -- it will run.
* The ATV will not start nor turn over. I ran 12v directly across the starter solenoid, it will turn over then.
* With the key on – no light come on.
* I followed the owners manual to turn the key on/off 3x and watch the display. The books say the "Wait" will flash and go through it sequence --- this not occurring no ,matter how I sequence it.
I get the "Check engine" icon and the "HOT" icon. Obviosuly something is faulty as I receive this "HOT" code- but the engine is not on.
I read some forms to check a T/C, I see no T/C on anything atop the cylinder.
I assume the ECM is faulty -- not sure what to do.
I need some expert guidance from the technical guys here.
Thank you for your time

Best way to accessorize new commander
Hey folks. Looking at buying a new commander. My question for you all is, is it better to buy aftermarket accessories or buy straight from dealer. I would be looking for full skid plate, winch, roof, doors, lights, plow..and maybe a couple other things I've forgotten. The dealer seems to make a tonne off these. If you were going to outfit a new machine, how would you do it? Recommend suppliers? Things you definitely would buy only through dealer? Thanks folks.
Fuel question
Hello,
I've been looking into different fuels to use in my 2014 Sportsman 850 (11:1 compression ration) but isn't going to hurt my wife's 2015 Sportsman 570 (10:1 compression ratio). We primarily ride trails to explore the interior Alaska where we live. Nothing too crazy. However, I do like to push the limits of my machine from time to time. Deep mud can be a blast and ripping around a trail or track at 60+ MPH is always fun as well. Plus I recently upgraded to 27" ripsaws that are SUPER heavy!! So I was thinking 100+ octane fuel would be a good choice to boost HP and keep the engine clean. Before doing any research I was kicking around the idea of buying a drum of VP110. But after some research I am no longer sure that's a good idea. I checked the user manuals and they only state to use a fuel with 87 octane or higher with an ethanol percentage no higher than 10%. I have been running the 93 octane, the highest I can get at my local pump (not sure of the ethanol percentage) and there seems to be no issues.
My thoughts are pretty straight forward. 1. I've talked to mechanics at 3 Polaris dealers and they all agree to avoid ethanol at all costs. 2. A higher octane fuel will keep the engine cleaner for longer (or so I've been led to believe over the years). 3. I know there is a cap on the amount of power you get form higher octane fuel, but with an 11:1 compression ration there's some potential for gains in that department.
What non-pump fuels are you guys running? Would a fuel additive be sufficient to clean out the ethanol and add octane? Am I completely off target with this line of thinking?
Thanks for any help provided!!

Melted Battery
I friend of mine has a 2016 Sportsman 570, he installed a new Duracell DURGM-15-US battery in it back in December 2017, last night he power washed the unit after riding it on Sunday he then put it back in his garage,, it was not connected to any type of charger. This morning he walks into the garage it it's filled with smoke, the battery is completely melted. Anyone have thoughts on what could cause this type of issue?
