I have had my 2013 Sportsman 500 HO for about a year now. Bought it used with about 500 miles on it and about about 50 hours. I have run it hard, and I am now at 750 miles and about 95 hours. I have not had too many issues with it until recently. Started running very rich and burning through gas. Pulled the spark plug and it was black. Air filter was clean. I am thinking I just need to find a way to adjust the jetting on it. Any suggestions would be awesome, thank you.
07 Outlander 650 XT Max charging problem
Low Battery is showing my 07 Outlander 650. Thinking it was the battery I replaced but that didn't fix the problem. I've done some reading on testing the stator and voltage regulator but I want to make sure I've got it straight before I start replacing things.
When I test the stator resistance I get 0.04 to 0.05 across the yellow wires. When I start it and rev it up to 4000 rpm to test AC volts it goes up to 50v.
When I check the voltage regulator it's below 12v and doesn't go up as I increase the rpms.
Is it my stator that's shot?
Thanks
Dave

I live in Central Newfoundland and purchased an Outlander 570 fall 2017. My wife and I like trail riding and playing in the mud. Added 27 inch Zillas, and planning on adding a Dalton tan primary spring, snorkel kit and spring spacers in the near future. I also have a 500 sportsman, 350 Banshee and a couple sleds.

Howdy from Vermont!
Hello from VT!
I have been a long time ATV and motorsport lover from Vermont, 28 years young. I started riding a Honda Big Red 350 3 wheeler and a Yamaha Banshee when I was younger. I eventually bought dirt bikes and a snowmobiles.
At one point I had a arctic cat 500 with big mud tires that I absolutely loved. After owning a Yamaha Viking since 2013, I finally met a group of friends through my new girlfriend. Your typical out in the sticks carpenter boys who love twisted teas and working on rigs. They are very down to earth people who's only vice's were a cold beers and a cigarettes from now and again. Exactly the kind of people that I needed after getting into some bad crowds in my younger days.
Anyway, I decided that it was time to get another ATV I originally wanted a Yamaha because my Viking was very good to me but they don't seem to make 2 ups for the ol ladie's comfort and they all have Can Am's so I figured I might as well join the pack. I ended up finding a really nice 1 owner can am 2017 570 max xt in New Hampshire. It only had 130 miles on it and I just couldn't seem to find a better deal. After a long day at the Chevy dealership (work) We took the long trip with the Silverado cash in hand I was excited to see it. It was everything that was pictured and more, basically a brand new machine for thousands less.
After days puttin around my own property solo we finally went on our first ride together, through what they called whiteface trails. It was a private trail with twisted turns, hairy banks, hills. streams, rocks and mud holes galore! Well my girlfriend and I have officially found our new favorite hobby for weekends and I love my Can Am! Already planning on buying another one next spring, possibly a 800 or 1000 xmr.
I look forward to sharing experiences with you and and helping build the community here on the Can Am forum! :th_smiliethumbsup:

800 Shift selector
So all winter my shifter has been freezing up. I knew I needed to open it up an re-grease it as well as maybe change the spring under the detent. When i went to reassemble everything, I had O-ring left. I cant find it anywhere on the service manual. It's about 5/8" diameter. I thought maybe on the detent shaft, but its too loose. Any idea's? 2005 800 Sportsman.

All, picking up a 2018 1000xxc this week. Already planning a tuner and Empire exhaust for it. Thinking on upgrading the primary clutch (maybe the secondary too), but which one? I see cvtech and QSC, any others? I will be going with stock tire sizes, but not sure if the clutch upgrade is needed for my type of riding. I am coming from sport 450 quads to the 1000. I know they are different animals but my riding style will be the same for the most part, farm land riding and like low end power and acceleration. Just wonder if an aftermarket tuned primary would be worth it.

This Kid Can Wheelie For Days + VideoOf course having almost 90 horsepower at your disposal puts control right in the palm of your hand, but still, riding a wheelie this long requires a great amount of talent. He comes up a little short the first go around, but on his second try, it looks like he ran out of runway before he […] more
