I asked a few days about about converting my current 2003 sportsman 500 EBS clutch to a non EBS.
I got some advice about which belt I can use, but now I need a little more info.
I found a non EBS clutch from a local parts guy but he told me that I need to bring my spring and weights from my old clutch with me to put in it.
I took apart the 2 cracked sheave EBS clutches I have (from the sportsman and a 500 magnum) to remove the weights.
both have blue springs, but the sportsman had 10WH (46 gram) weights and the magnum had 10MH (50 gram).
Not sure which weights to use, whether it makes a big difference or whether either are even good for non EBS.
I know a little about how the clutches work, but as for what weights for what atv or clutch I'm not sure.
I'm running stock size (25 inch) tires and plan to only trail ride with it. no plow, towing or anything heavy.
Not sure if elevation makes any difference, I'm in Ottawa, ON and we're at 70M (about 200 feet) above.
