I’ve recently picked up an older machine that didn’t run, for dirt cheap. I’m trying to identify both the machine and engine.
It’s marked on the plastics as a 2x4 400 and judging by pictures on line it looks like around 94.
The thing that doesn’t make sense is the fact that it’s air cooled. I have yet to find any information on an air cooled 400 2 stroke. Was there ever a 400 air cooled 2 stroke in these machines?
If it’s not a 400 then the plastics were replaced at sometime and I need to identify it.

I know many folks don't even know how to find the classifieds, so just in case, posting here as well. Hope mods will let this slide......lotta good parts to be had here.

Parting out complete 2009 Renegade 800R X. 2100 miles, 333 hours, all stock one owner machine with bad transmission.

I found a 2007 outlander 500 for 2,000 bucks and it has 1600 miles on it and I don’t really know much about the can am brand so I was looking for some tips and maybe advise on if I should stay away or jump on it. Some help please

I found an outlander 500 with 1600 miles on it and it is a nice machine. The guy bought it off his friend that was selling cuz he got when his father died and didn’t need it. He’s asking 2,000 cash for it and I don’t know much about can am. I’ve always rode Honda or Polaris
