1st time Can Am owner

Yesterday I picked up my first ever Can Am here in upstate South Carolina. It is a 2008 outlander max 800. This seems like an awesome site with lots of informative and helpful members.

just bought my first Can Am. 2014 650XT. Looking forward to the knowledge of this group. First order of business is fixing the broken plastic housing for the handgrip/thumbwarmer switches. Cheers.:eek

570 base going down hills

2018 570 base. I understand that on machines with EBS, the belt clutch system holds you back. On the 570 base and I'm going down a hill, the rpms go to an idle and I pick up speed. I can hear a low whinning from the clutch area. Am I burning a flat spot on my belt doing this, or should I feather the throttle to keep the clutch engaged.

Elka Stage 4 issue

Hi All, I was spinning the adjustment down on my shock and it started to skip back up like threads were stripped, Quad is on jack so no pressure on them. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Prob just have to compress the spring manually and figure out how to get that ring below the messed up threads.

2015 Can Am 1000 or 800 differences

I bought a 2015 Can am 1000, (I think) That is what was advertised. It has 1000 on the Hood.... Only place it says 1000. How do I tell the difference? Can the 800 hood be replaced with the 1000? I dont have the "fancy" instrument panel thats analog and digital. Its all digital and smaller than the bigger one I see on all the videos.. The title doesnt designate 800 or 1000. They both look incredibly alike with the tires and interior. Thanks for your help

2005 800 noise

I've read a few posts about the "sportsman knock", just curious if mine is just that, or I've got bigger issues. I'll attach a link for the video as soon as I get it loaded.

2018 XMR Rear Diff Opinions

Hey guys. I’m new to the forum but have been riding for years. I just picked up a 2018 Outlander 1000 XMR. My previous was a 2013 1000 Limited. I’m in the process of installing a QSC primary and STM secondary as well as exhaust and an ECU tune. My 2013 was stock so I have no experience with the upgrades. I’ve read about some having issues with the rear differentials (and see quite a few after market builds) and was wondering if y’all thought it was worth it to upgrade? I am an aggressive rider and go on long treks. Destroying a diff on a trip would be a real bad experience I’d rather avoid. I appreciate any insight anyone has.

Ngk spark plug.

Hey guys I picked up a new spark plug for 2015 Sportsman 570 at my local auto store today. But I’m not sure weather it’s the right one. It’s hard to find info on them. I got a NGK Iridium IX CR8EIX 4218. Is this the right one and what’s the gap supposed to be. Cheers guys
