has anyone found fox shocks for 17 sportsman 1000 xp? thinking about elka stage 4 just looking at other options

Gday all,
Drew here from the Top End in Australia.
I own a 2012 canam outlander 800 xtp. Awesome bike. I will be chasing a few parts for this as I recently had a head on collision with a big rock. Tearing off the front right hand wheel. Only going by looks at the moment I think I have pushed/bent the aluminum sub frame up and torn the front lower suspension arm lug/fastener from the frame, hopefully haven’t bent/twisted the frame. So if anyone has a twisted frame or know of someone who does. Would be awesome to get in touch with them. As I’d like to replace the lug with one that hasn’t been bent and then straightened and will be able to be welded directly back on.
I will post pics if possible.

Outlander XMR Snorkel Extension!

Installed the factory snorkel extension on my 2016 Outlander XMR 850. very impressed with the way it fits and looks. The instructions were not the greatest. I bought a new dash support off a 2016 outlander 850 (P#: 705006321) because the XMR dash has both a hole on the right and the left side. When I put the snorkel extension on, I did not like how it fit with the stock XMR dash support. Here are some pictures of it finished.

First impression of Alpine Flex Plow

I recently tried out my Alpine Flex Plow for the very first time and wanted to share my experience.

I was pleasantly surprise on how well the plow scraped down to the surface. I was somewhat reluctant of this after seeing the rounded wear bar on the bottom of the plow. I can say that the plow scrapes the snow off the surface as well as my old Cycle County plow with the squared off wear bar. I like how the trip mechanism works on this plow. When hitting a hard object the plow flexed just enough to travers over the obstacle without completely folding down and losing the snow you were pushing. The T-handle used to position the angle of the plow is located in such a way that it makes moving the plow from side to side convenient and very easy.

My only complaint with the plow, and this is a very minor complaint, is that is that the assembly instructions should be included in the packaging. When spending a $1000.00 on a plow I should not be forced to download the instructions online.

If you are on the fence about purchasing this plow don't be. I have been plowing snow with an ATV for the past 14 years and the Alpine Flex Plow is by far the best plow I have ever used. Yes it is very expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Giving it the gas

Here's something for you to think about; when you open the throttle to accelerate what are you doing?

Everyone I know refers to this action as "giving it gas".

In reality, you are giving it AIR!

It is the job of the fuel system to try to maintain the air to fuel ratio constant. While the fuel system is increasing the amount of fuel being mixed with the increased amount of air you are letting into the engine, it is not the fuel causing the increase in acceleration, but rather the amount of air. The amount of fuel is maintained at the approximate 14-16/1 air to fuel ratio.

That being said, is there such a thing as a "miracle carburetor" that will give you 100 miles to the gallon?

No, it's a myth - the only to get more miles to the gallon is to; 1) use leaner fuel to air mixtures 2) improve the efficiency of the engine 3) use a fuel with more energy than gasoline.

A gallon of methanol alcohol has 49% the energy of gasoline - therefore when you displace gasoline with alcohol, power and economy drop. 1 kilogram (2.198 pounds) of H2 (hydrogen fuel) has 100% more energy than 1 gallon of gasoline.

Fuel line antifreeze is alcohol (methanol, isopropyl or ethanol) - ethanol blended fuels are by design deicing - there is no need to add fuel line deicer to ethanol blended fuel. Doing so makes the engine harder to start. You have displaced gasoline with a fuel that has 49% less energy. Methanol and isopropyl alcohol have less energy than ethanol so adding these types of alcohol to fuel increases the problems associated alcohol blended fuel.

Ethanol is grain, fruit, vegatable (or more recently algae) derived alcohol - it can be ingested.
Methanol is wood alcohol. It is poisonous. Ingestion can cause a wide range of ailments and death.
Isopropyl alcohol dissolves a wide range of non-polar compounds. It also evaporates quickly, leaves nearly zero oil traces, compared to ethanol, and is relatively non-toxic, compared to alternative solvents. Thus, it is used widely as a solvent and as a cleaning fluid, especially for dissolving oils.

Is your brain starting hurt? Think about this. Who wants alcohol in gasoline? Only the alcohol producers.

2017 Sportsman 850

I installed a lift kit that was not originally made to fit my wheeler, I found it would fit if I took the stability bars off the back but I'm unsure if taking them off the bike will effect the structure or effect the riding quality?
