2007 Sportsman 500 HO EFI

Hey Guys,

So the quad will run ok for a bit and then will bog down and check engine light comes on eventually stalling. Can restart and idles fine, but once you raise the RPM's same story.

I've checked the fuel pump and all seems fine.

Looking for suggestions

Thanks

Charging Issues – 2009 800 Outlander

Hi all,

Recently I've been having issues with a Low Battery message appearing, and eventually Limp Home Mode. My first thought was to purchase a new battery since I was running the original which is now 9 years old. So off I go and purchase a new battery, the larger ETX18L and installed it. Within minutes of plowing with the new battery the messages appeared once again. So I checked the voltage at the battery with the bike running and it wasn't receiving any charge from the Voltage Regulator and/or Stator.

So I've run through the tests for the stator in the service manual and all tests passed except that I'm getting 30-50 Volts AC at ~4000 rpm across the 3 yellow wires coming out of the stator. At idle it's around 17 Volts AC. The service manual has the specification at 10-25 Volts AC at 4000 rpm and says to replace stator if it falls below these numbers. It doesn't say what to do if they are above as in my case. Is my stator fine with those outputs, 30-50 Volts AC? Or is it my voltage regulator?

I've removed and cleaned all connections and it did start to charge for a brief period but stopped before I could even get it out of the garage. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

2019 Outlander XT Predictions

Does anyone have any predictions for changes to the Outlander XT for 2019? Do you think it will incorporate Smart-Lok instead of Visco-Lok? Any other SxS innovations you think will be transitioned over to their ATV lineup?

Let's hear your predictions and bragging rights for those that come true!

Violent Chatter Shake in Deep Snow?!

Hi guys,

To set the stage on my question, I am coming from a 2016 Highlifter 850. I sold that and took a cooling period and bought a 2015 570 ESP. Awesome machine, and a blast to ride dry trails. However here's my question. I was riding in deep snow and doing some plowing yesterday, and noticed the machine was doing a lot of shaking and vibrating when in the deeper snow (and in AWD). I guess the best way to describe it is like a violent rapid shaking/hopping. I would try and give it more gas and that would sometime help, but almost make it worse other times.

My 850 definitely did not do that. Is there a downgraded 4-wheel drive system on the 570 vs the 850's?
