500 HO no start

Hi everyone new to the forum. I got an issue with my 2009 Sportsman 500. A few weeks ago it was real cold like below zero degrees F, and I went to plow the drive way. I start the quad with full choke everything seems normal. Let it warm up nice and good and go over to plow. I drive about 1/4 mile through 3 inches on snow and it quits. And when it did it made almost a grinding noise. I was going like 10-15 and at like 4000ish rpms. It’s not seized and turned over normally just no fire. Now I’ve been messing with it. Has spark. Looked at carb wasn’t dirty or anything but sprayed it down and replaced needle and seat o ring. Intake valves are opening. Valves and piston look fine according to my bore scope I stuck down there. Checked compression only 30 psi. Seems low even with comp. realease but idk? Drained fuel put and put good in. Checked fuel pump for cracked diaphragms. Thought there might be water in gas. Put everything back together and still nothing. Sprays gas out of intake side of carb. When I had the carb off I sprayed starting fluid down intake and cranked and flames came out and started my intake and starting fluid can on fire. Seems like valve timing is off? Checked cam inspection cover and flywheel and they seem to be aligned. Sorry new to four strokes and don’t want to keep trying things that arent working. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Erik

Rad hose size

Hi,

I'm going to install a trail tech temperature gauge on my 2017 650XT, does anyone know the rad hose size ? Thank you.

Outlander Max XT, XT-P or Limited (Shocks)?

Family of 4, and we have an ‘08 Renegade 500, ‘13 Outlander 800 XT and ‘15 Maverick XXC. Everyone prefers to ride ATV over the SXS, so we’re looking at swapping the Maverick for a new Outlander Max. Main uses are trails and general riding (fields and gravel roads). Will probably ride 2-up 25% of time, and 1-up 75% of time.

The main differences (at least those that really matter to us) among the 2018 Outlander XT, XT-P and Limited are the suspensions. As I understand it, XT has “standard” shocks all around, XT-P has Fox Podium all around, and Limited has Fox air suspension in rear and “standard” shocks in front.

We’ll certainly test ride before we buy, but a few minutes in the dealer’s “test lot” can’t compare to hours on on a trail. So, I’m looking for some advise from those who are familiar with these models/different shock setups.

From a 1-up perspective, I’ve never thought the standard shocks on my 800 were lacking (could be just because I don’t know any better).

I suppose another option would be to get the XT and upgrade with aftermarket shocks.

Thoughts? XT-P and/or Limited worth the extra money for the shocks? Better to go XT + aftermarket shocks?

Thanks!
