So I had problems with my 03 sportsman , no matter what I tried or fixed or replaced I couldn’t get the 4x4 to work ,, so I did the impossible ,,, Got it all figured out now, I took the front diff out of a newer one and swapped it in,, now I have 4x4 and I have the locking diff rather than both hubs,,, it took a bit of work because I had to chop the front end of the frame and swap that from one the the other as well because of the way it bolts in,, took it for a test run and all is good and everything works as it should
Acceleration problem
I have an 2007 500x2 that starts and runs great but after about three miles if I let off the throttle it will not come off idle. It just stumbles. Idles fine. Shut it off restart and runs great for the next three or so miles.
Just got it back from the shop. No codes and it would not replicate. Any body with a similar problem who has found the solution. It would be great to hear from you.

Nothing Says “Welcome To The Dunes” Like a Face Full of Sand + VideoWe’ve all been there. Whether you’re new to the dunes or you’re simply not paying attention and you get too close to the car in front of you. At which time you’re buddy takes full advantage of the opportunity to give you a face full of sand. Clearly this guy learned his lesson because he kept […] more

If There’s an Award For Ingenuity, These Guys Are Lifetime Winners + VideoWe’ve seen people limp ATVs and UTVs back to the pits on three of the four wheels, but when you lose both rear wheels for any reason, you’re pretty much dead in the water. Unless you’re these guys, that is. They fashioned this amazing “splint” system that would keep the rear end of this Honda […] more
Unlocking diff swap
Hey guys it's been a while and I know there is a thread here explaining this but can't find it with the search. I have a 2012 550 and want to install the X2 unlocking differential. I can handle all the work myself but would like some insight from those that have done this and where to get the best price on parts. Any help is appreciated

Starting problems
Hi guys
need some advice. Have read all threads about starting issues but still cant explain what might be going on.
few month back from one day to the next it would no start just get the clicking noise from the relay in the back so I charge the battery and still the same. Took my car battery and jumped the quad. Crancking was slow but it started and so did my truck afterwards. Took battery to be load tested and it was low, so I goy a ew battery. Put it in and ist started with a bit of hesitation. good so far. went back to start it a couple of days later and just clicking again at the rear relay. so i checked everything from the relay to diodes and fuses up front fuses in the back. So just by chance I noticed that if i activated the brake it would start bit not everytime even though it was in neutral or parking. checked the gear indicator and changed them out as well as the ignition switch. checked out tha start button as well. Still it will start with brake applied either i gear or not but it wont start in neutral or parking as it used to. The rear relay just clicks. Sometime it has a hard time starting even with brake applied. what else could i look into?
Thanks
Mike

I have owned Arctic Cat, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. They all served me well but I hated the Cat. It was a 2006 with a Kawasaki 650 engine. Worst motor I have ever owned. It would not run right until it was completely warmed up and the valves seated. Once I got my first Polaris....I never looked back. I have owned the Sportsman 400, 500, 550XP and now have the 850XP Touring and a RZR 800XC. I use to work at a Polaris Dealership. I do my own repairs and I am pretty good about finding out how to do so. I look forward to learning more from you all and maybe being able to help some.
