High voltage and batt/speedo flashing

2013 500 sportsman. Bought it new and about 8 months after it was purchased the battery and speedo needle started flashing sometimes. Most times they would stop flashing at higher RPM. still started and ran fine but the battery didnt last long after that. Put a new AGM battery in and no change. That battery lasted about 9 months. Went with a better brand this time and still no change so I decided to check voltage. Before install the battery was 12.5v. At idle it reads 16.7v and at 3000 rpm it reads 17.6v. Thats too much from what i have read. I am guessing it is the voltage regulator. Tomorrow I will find it and test it and report my findings. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

2016 XMR 1000 Elka Suspension

I want to put Outlander 1000 XT max shocks by elka on my XMR and go to a 28in tire. Has anyone tried this as the xmr shocks are mechanically limited which makes for horrible trail riding?

Cracked Footwells

Ive got cracks on both of my footwells. This weather and snow conditions is making it spread a bit. Ive thought about purchasing new ones because I have OCD but think it might happen again. They are 2016 max footwells so they aren't cheap. Does anyone know of any fixes? Ive contacted the rapid fix about their product and they recommended the patches they sell. Not sure if anyone had luck with anything else. Both sides have the same crack.

2014 Scrambler XP 1000 Service Manual

Hey guys can anyone direct me to where I can buy / download the service manual for a reasonable price? I was able to download the maintenance manual of the Polaris website but would also like to get the detailed service manual. I have done a number of searches but have been unable to find it. Thanks!

2005 Sportsman 500 – bogging at 1/4 throttle

I just bought a 2005 Sportsman and it idles great, you can rev it in neutral also. But I put it in gear and as soon as I get to about 1/4 throttle it starts to bog and decelerate. Any idea where to start? I have checked the air filter, tried it without the air filter and it still did it. I filled it with premium and added seafoam, have run it at least an hour and it still does it. Drained the tank and there was little stuff on the screen, there was a little bit not sure that would affect it. Could it be the exhaust lobe on the cam is worn? Check the carb? Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

The new 17s and 18s are quite the machines

Was in at my dealer in western ND yesterday talking about the various models and years of machines. Out here the bulk of their customers are ranchers pushing cattle and the terrain is very rough...so the machines have to be tough.

Dealer mentioned in the past they could not sell the XP line for that application because the radiator would bust free from a hard hit and all kinds of issues resulting from the tough conditions. They sold lots of 570s instead.

He said all that changed when the new 2017s came out for the solo XPs.

He said these new 17 and 18 versions are tough as nails. The radiator design has been changed, no problems there. The curved aarms are thicker and larger than the straight (I could easily see this when they were sitting side by side.) Other than a blown front diff on a 17 (that Polaris covered and replaced with the 18 diff cover) they have had no issues. He spoke of a couple customers by name that "beat the crap out of their ATV's riding them 6000 miles a year and never on a trail" and their XPs are still going strong.

I thought this was encouraging information for the group after so many years of disappointment with QC issues on the XP line. I was one of the early adopters back in 2010 (gave them 1 year to get all the bugs out before I bought one....or so I thought right?) and it is good to see things finally coming around on the line.
