Hey all, new to the forum. I’ve been searching for a day or so about taller tires, clutch work and stiffer springs. I have a 2007 sportsman 500 x2 with only 580 miles on it. It works good but when it’s loaded down with me and my kid and a deer or elk carcass it squats pretty low. I’m always trying to dodge smallish boulders due to smacking the undercarriage. It’s stock with 25” tires and it’s time for new ones. So my question is, I want to run a 27” tire on all 4 corners and replace the stock springs with the springs from the 800. I read where this helps with clearance and overloading issues. Can anyone tell me if 1) I will need to have a stringer clutch installed or 2) this is a bad idea. Thank you for the feedback.

HD springs/tires on 570
New to the forum. Looking for info on installing HD springs on my 2016 Sportsman 570. I have found bits and pieces of info on stiffer springs on here but I still have questions. I am looking to gain ground clearance and run bigger Bearclaw Htr tires. I understand that changing the geometry of the suspension on any vehicle can put unwanted stress on axles and so forth, but I'm wondering if that will be an issue with the slow but steady riding I do.
What brands of springs should I look at? What size HTR can I run with those springs and an aftermarket wheel setup? How much will this really affect my ride quality?
I should also mention that I plow snow with my Sportsman, so it would be nice to take up some of the sag in my front end.
Thanks

1995 400 Sportsman overheating
My brother in laws Sportsman 400 has been overheating and coolant comes out overflow (onto your leg)
I cleaned the rad of any debris (good cleaning)
I changed all the coolant
I burped the coolant lines to get air out
The fan is coming on. I even bypassed the sensor so the fan is always on,
So fan is running, coolant is new and topped up, rad is clean, no air in coolant
There is no thermostat (I looked and was informed there isn't one :) )
The machine runs great until about 30 minutes of normal riding in normal temps and then overheats
Ideas??

ITP Rebate
I mentioned this rebate in another post, but thought I would put it out for general information. It's a $50 rebate on a set of ITP tires. The website for the rebate is: ITPTiresWinter and it ends 1/15/18 so it you want to take advantage of it you need to so it soon. The rebate period is 12/15/17 - 1/15/18.
1995 Polaris 400 thermostat location
I am looking to replace the thermostat on my brother in laws Polaris Sportsman 400. I believe it is a 1994 model but the internet says they only came out in 95? either way I think they would be the same
Where is the thermostat location? Looking at it, if what I see is correct. Is the thermostat built into the head? Do I need to remove the head in order to replace the thermostat?
There are 2 coolant hoses, The one goes into the right side on the head. The Other is a very short hose at the bottom of the engine, neither of these appear to have a "typical" thermostat housing for replacement.
Looking for some guidance before ripping into this
Thanks in advance

16 570 EFI Wouldnt start cold Weather
Hey guys. I went out ice fishing Friday and was 3 miles out on the bay. It was 0 out very cold. I always run a tender on my machine. it sat on the ice for about 5 hours and went to leave and would not fire. It was reading LO 10.8 and would go to 9. It would still crank over fine but would not fire. I did not remember if the fuel pump came on or not. I got it towed back to my trailer and the next day I went to fire it up and it still read LO 10.8 but fired right up, it was 20 out...... Im guessing it was low voltage but didn't know if I should get a better relay? or Maybe new spark plug? any help would be appreciated!

Hey guys,
I purchased a brand new 2017 sportsman 850SP (EFI) about a year ago. To date I have about 23 hours on it and maybe 100km (60ish miles)...
I’m from Canada and this past weekend the temps dropped to -38.
I’ve never had a problem starting my atv in the past but this weekend it wouldn’t start.
It cranked over and after 2 seconds it would fire for a split second and then die immediately. It went on and did this continually until my battery died. I then grabbed my booster battery pack and tried again. Same thing.
Any idea what may be wrong? It’s an EFI so you would think it would be able to start no problem in any temp. Especially considering how new it is...could it be the spark plug? Ecu mapping? I’m lost for thoughts.
Thanks
